Speedo Healer Install

speedohealer.com

Definately worth ordering with the factory connectors. Was a ten minute job, including taking the lower off. I loosened up the upper on the left side and ran the cable up along the factory wiring. Four zip ties later and it's stashed with the factory wiring in the left side of the upper. I can get to it easily, yet it's completely out of sight. Haven't done any corrections with it, but I have no doubt it'll work as well as any other correction unit. I like the idea of having a 'highest speed' recall available.

Haven't done any corrections yet. I bought it for when I do decide to make a gearing change. Top speed recall is cool, too!

Just ordered mine. $85 including shipping, for Kawasaki wired unit. Will likely use my old Garmin GPS III to confirm difference. No big hurry to get it though. Will be with the BMR race team for the next two weekends. I figure that by the time I get to it, my Muzzy damper, frame sliders and pipe hanger will be in as well. At least I hope so.

I'd take pics, but there wouldn't be anything to see! Seriously, the cable runs up the left side the bike along the factory harness, then goes forward and the box is tucked into the left fairing.

How exactly does the top speed recall work? On the website it says recent top speeds can be recalled at the push of a button but I didn't see any buttons included with the kit. Also for those of you that have them where did you order them from?

Speedo Healer also claims the following on their site as one of it's features
"bypass the factory speed limiter". Does anyone know for sure if this is
true? It seems like an easy way to defeat the controversial speed limiter.
Maybe I'm not understanding something here?

maybe they just meant that you can adjust your speedo to read low so you can trick the ECU? Who cares? The "speed limiter elimination" function of the unit is ancillary at best... I bought it to calibrate my speedo after changing sprockets, not because I read some fluff on the website and got a hard-on...
