Is there any known reason or info saying this chain is as strong and a decent replacement for stock ZX-10R chain ; is it heavier or lighter or same? ;
Is chain standard size or can be ordered with extra links?
Anyone purchase from this vendor before with good results on their products?
just asking.
thanks in advance!

Salsa1 - I've done business with them before, they're a good company.
With regard to this being as strong - the stock chain is a DID. The biggest difference (that I can discern) is that this chain has regular O rings, vice the X rings. And the side plates are not anodized gold. So it's a plain-jane 525 o ring chain. I don't think strength will be an issue, and with 130 links, it will be useful when you want to put a bigger rear sprocket on the bike, swingarm extensions, etc.

Thats indeed a great deal but its DID's lower end chain. The 525erv is the X-ring (gold paltes, blah, blah)top end chain which retails for around $200.

Price is sure right... hard to resist for $25.00 (plus shipping); manual says I have to cut stock chain to replace. Local motorcycle mechanic may handle. Manual lists some special tool stuff.
Was hoping to have endless chain as I understand is more reliable than having a master link; but...I do plan (eventually) to purchase swingarm extension to play drag racing from time to time.
Question remains if a 130 link chain will extend enough for 7 inch over swing arm?
Need to make a phone call... price is sure good.
Thaks for info Swift;
I take back half of what I said about you. haha.

Swft - did I read that right - your stock chain is a gold-plated X-Ring chain?
Mine's not. Mine's an O-ring, and has no manufacturer's markings, only a 525 on every third sideplate. And a press-on master link, slightly copper colored.

Whoops, I better go look right now!
Yep, I was thinking of the old 12, or the ZZR being a DID chain.
The 10R chain is a RK:
RK525MFOX110L
Hmm...Can't figure out the codes on the RK website? Anyone know how to decode this into a code that matches what's on the website?

I think the M is for master link, but I can't get the rest to match up.

Guess never heard of "press on master link" term ; still we have an endless chain by definition right?
I did not find a removable link when I looked yesterday; Kawasaki manual states chain needs to be cut off in order to remove.
Isn't an RK significantly better than DID?; may not matter a whole lot - just asking in case it does.
Thanks for anyone that can help shine some light here....
Found out that Spencer offers three swing arms options.
1." Bolt on" 0-7 inches over stock. $270.00 ;130 link chain will work up to 6 inches worth as long as ya don't go bigger than two additional teeth on rear sprocket.
2. 0-6 inches over stock ;you send in swing arm for modification $425.00 , 130 link chain will also work as in (1.) above.
3. 3-10 inches over stock; you send swing arm in for modification ;same price as (2.) $425.00', need 140 (min.) link chain however.
Have fun stay alive.

salsa, you use a chain breaker to take it off. Basically forces a sideplate over a rivet head, then you can rotate a sideplate, and the chain slides apart.
To put on one, you use a chainpress - or any other small handheld press - to force the sideplate over the press-on masterlink's pins, one at a time. Then you peen or swage the ends of the pins to expand the tip of the pin over the sideplate - it all makes great sense when you see it.
The stock chain does have a master, the link is sort of copper-tinted. There's no way to get a chain into this swingarm without a master, or Kawasaki is doing some kind of origami with space-time (so watch someone tell me there is a way...)
Swft - it may very well be an X-ring chain. I look at the letters "MFO" in the code, and on their website, I see an RX-ring chain with the letters "HFO" in it. If the "M" stands for "Kawasaki Contract", then it makes sense. Sudco's website for Kawasaki Replacement Chains lists RK chain, and they ALL have a "M" in the designation after the chain size (520, etc).

Oh, and another thing -
AZ Motorsports group OWNS the southwest for motorcycle dealerships, and gives cruddy service and a horrible sales experience, and they bigtime overcharge for gear and accessories in their shops. I flatly refuse to buy from their shops.
They offer fair prices over the net. Being an AZ resident, I get better prices if I shop out of state. Instead, I shop with local shops (Pipe City, Steve's Cycle, CycleGear for small stuff like flatrepair kits and do rags), and with the 10-20% discount and no shipping break even with tax. AZ sales taxes I pay happily, since AZ has some of the shittiest school systems you'll ever see.
Anyway, I choose not to buy from AZMotorsports. Unless, of course, tires or chains are on sale...

I would consult folks in AFAM myself before purchasing this $25.00 chain for a ZX-10R to be safe.
would want to see what they say;talked to my local motorcycle (old hand) mechanic and his catalogs depict a whole lot of chains to choose from. Some in weaker in tensile strenght than others. He did not advise purchase without further inquiry. I agree.
DID is on the low side of the scale of chains available as Big Daddy has said.
Just giving info I come across.
Have fun ;stay alive.

He didn't say that. He said that particular DID might be a cheapy. DID is as good as anything out there.

IF that particular DID chain is a cheapy then end of story to me; but OK DID might possibly be as "good". Cool...
Thanks for correction;just want the facts myself...

I ordered some right after the post and 2 days later I checked my order online and the order had been cancelled.
Item not available. Probably a loss leader. Tried to call and got a machine. I use that chain on my dirt bikes and it holds up very well.

This sounds like a grocery store sale add . You know the ones , 3 liter of Coke for .29 cents . Kind of crap just to get you into the store . And to find out they only had 4 three liters to start with ..... Of course they were sold out when you got there .
