A few pictures of the race bikes at Sears Point (Infineon) today.

Took a few pictures of the race bikes at Sears Point (Infineon) today (post practice), tomorrow should be a fantastic day of racing; while both need further development time; I'm very pleased with the progress.

You can still call it Sears Point. Was my home track for 12 years. Hope to get back up there and ride it someday again... When I raced there ('76 - '88), it was oh so bumpy, chewed up, and of course no run-off areas.... But if you were a "local" , you had it made over the competition.

Memory road... When I first started, there were only a handfull of us in the sub "2:00" minute club in 1976! I believe in '1988, it was 1:45's for us lowly privateers (me, Rich Oliver, Ricky Orlando, Dale Quarterly, and a handfull of others). I think the factory guys at that time were doing 41's - 43's, something like that. Man, so much of my life was defined at that track. If ya ever need and endurance partner, let me know!

I know the track has changed substantially, but what are ya turning up there? Nice looking bikes too! Good Luck!!!

Kerry, the one time I rode Sears Point it scared me so bad I almost quit riding! Nothing like coming at a big concrete wall, eh?

You guys would hardly recognize the place now. Since the repave, most of the dodgy sections are history. No more of the old turn 11 where you get to stare at the k-wall while hauling down from warp speed after turn 10. And the hills ouside 8/8a and between 5 and 3 aren't there anymore.

Good luck out their Mark! Hope the development keeps going in the right direction.

Up till now i wasn't sure if you were the Kerry Bryant i remembered from my first indoctrination to club racing (AFM)or not but after reading the above post i'd say its you alright. I gave it a go with my 75 H2 with numerous mods in the superstreet class in 76(i think) and was elated to finish 9th.....as a matter of fact you passed me midway through your last lap before taking the checker.

Both bikes are very good looking. Why do you have one of each? Sprint racing or endurance? Developing the R1 with Graves? What's up with that? Or do you just have their parts on there?

Do tell, do tell....

Oh yeah, the rear set on the 10 is really sweet looking.

Erich:
Thanks.

big daddy:
Unfortunately it's not faster than the blue one. Yes, they are Attack rear-sets.

jonwright:
The R1 is my Open Production/Open SB race bike, the ZX10R is a dealer sponsored Open SB/FPAC/OpenGP race bike. My relationship with Graves is related to operating the R1-Forum.Com. I'm very fortunate to have Chuck Graves assistance during the course of our development; I'm hopeful we can achieve similar with the ZX10R.

Thanks!

Based on lap times, yes; alas the ZX10R needs additional development time; the forks have been worked both by Lindemann Engineering and RaceTech; unfortunately they just aren't getting the job done - quite frankly they were far more plush stock, although far to soft. The rear setup is working well, although the spring rate is on the high side. (That's another story pertaining to chatter).

I'm certain additional saddle/developmental time will assist in forward momentum, I raced this weekend and I'm also at the track (today) and tomorrow; in addition to next week for several days in sequence- the goal is to have them sorted by the 12th/13th (both are entered for racing).

Your more than welcome to ride the bike, presently it's PCIIIusb is track tuned, Wednesday it's back on the rollers; my only complaint is abrupt mid-corner fuel transitions with the ZX10R's fuel injection - I've set the idle to 3500 to Band-Aid the issue.

Thanks!

Sorry to hear of the fork woes after much time & $$ attempting to develope them.....frustrating i'm sure. I appreciate the offer to ride it but its not something i feel comfortable with no matter who's bike it is. Surely many aspects have been gone over between Jim L and Racetech so i seriously doubt i would have anything worthwhile to add other than more gibberish.

Mark-

Good meeting you this weekend and bouncing some things around about the bike. Managed to get some of the issues we were talking about over the weekend sorted today at Buttonwillow. No times for reference though as we were running the Mazda Corner instead of the AFM sweeper. Please send those emails when you get a chance. I am very curious to see what Will and Stoney had to say.

Mark-

Please contact me as soon as possible as I want to get my bodywork painted before thill if possible. I got yelled at by Matt Roth because I don't have backgrounds for number plates. Apparently Joe threw a fit during FP because they couldn't figure out who I was. Pretty funny actually. Anyway, give me a call if you can

David, agreed, sharing development information on the 10R is clearly moving in the right direction; any information I have is yours. I'll give you a call later this week, PM me your e-mail address.

RobMuzzy:
Send me a set and I'll post a full review.

Big Daddy:
See you Saturday.

Thanks!
