The Yammy low fuel odo trick is the best as well. Too bad about the rest of it.

I agree! Why do I need to see the word "FUEL" flashing annoyingly where my trip ODO should be? I already see the little low fuel light, isn't that enough? On my R1 I loved the "F" ODO.... Kawasaki, get with the program... steal some good ideas!

I really liked the low fuel odo on the R1. But I just can't get excited about the new R1 instruments. When I was riding the bike, something about the instrument cluster on the '04 R1 just seemed kinda cheap looking. On my ZX10 I do not have a hard time picking up the digital "hand" on the tach but I do have a hard time picking up the numbers at a glance. At least when I am not near the redline. And who really cares where the tach is when you are just putin' around. However, on the track, I think it is fine because it is obvious where the redline is due to the contrasting colors. I have no doubt where I am. Some of the coolest tachs on factory race bikes are "digital" also.... You know, the ones with all the data acquisition stuff. Now if they wanted to incorporate the multi-colored sequence of lights like they have on the Audi R8 endurance race cars, that would be just fine with me.

...or how about making the whole tach face explode (figuratively of course) in a bright red or orange color to let you know that you are at the limit?
