scratched swingarm

has anyone else scratched the right side of there swingarm. Seems by boot has been rubbing the finish off. Is there a guard out to protect it?

I got an adhesive sheet of carbon fiber from LP. Cut out a piece to cover where my boot rubs and slapped it on. Sorted. Looks factory too.

thanks for letting me know about the carbon adhesive sheets. I ordered some today. I told the parts guy about it and he's heard of lots of owners complaining about this. LP or muzzy will come up with a protector for this.
ducati had the same problem with there 916!!

Perfect would be good. Just get the stock piece and cut it to size.

This tape is perfect for the swingarm. It matches so well you almost can't see it. The black is a satin finish like the arm. looks VERY factory. here's the link.

I ordered the stock right-side frame protector pad from Kawasaki, after my first weekend ride left a shiny spot on the swingarm. Cut a piece out to cover the spot being worn and stuck it to the swingarm. Looks like it was designed that way, and matches the frame scuff pads perfectly, as it is the same material and pattern. Too easy.

The OEM frame protector seems to be made of thin plastic yes?? and perhaps not very flexible as it is a formed piece to fit the frame spar, which brings me to my concern. Can a piece be cut from it that would fit the contour of the swingarm without looking ghetto??

Yes, it was a bit more flexy than I had expected. And yes, it is made out of thin plastic. It cut easy with sharp scissors, and contoured over the swingarm better than I thought it would. Time will tell if it sticks, long term. Plus, I think it was only $9.50 or so.

TurboBlew -- Yes, it is an Ohlins.
