10R DEALS GAP LONG RIDE

HELLO EVERYBODY......
IVE JUST RETURNED FROM DEALS GAP TODAY . MYSELF AND SIX OF MY BEST ZIPPERHEAD FRIENDS JUST RETURNED FROM MOTORCYCLE NIRVANA . WE RODE ARPOX 1900 MILES ON THE TRIP ON ROADS
THAT WERE BETTER THAN SEX . THATS RIGHT BETTER THAN SEX!
THE ZX10R PERFORMED BETTER THAN I EVER EXPECTED. FOR ONCE THE CYCLE MAGS WERE ALMOST COMPLETELY CORRECT IN THEIR DISCRIPTION OF THE 10R'S MANNERS ....
IM 6-3 220 LBS AND THE 10 IS SURPRISINGLY COMFORTABLE.I WERE ABLE TO DO 12 HOUR DAYS IN THE SADDLE WITH ONLY MINOR ACHES AND PAINS . THE 10 CAN BE AMAZINGLY SMOOTH WHEN RIDDEN EASY OR EVIL AND MEAN WHEN RIDDED HARD , BUT AT NO TIME DOES THE BIKE LEAVE YOU LACKING....
HANDELING IS SUPERB AND STABLE NO MATTER HOW FAST YOU PUSH THE BIKE AND IF YOU LIKE TO WHEELIE AT SPEED YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED . RIDING FAST THROUGH DEALS GAPS VERY TIGHT CORNERS IS WHERE THE 10 BELONGS (STREET WISE). THE BIKE IS SO FLICKABLE ALL ONE DOES IS LAUGH IN THEIR HELMET AND HOPE THE GAP WOULD NEVER END . I DID HOWEVER HAVE A DUNLOP 218 FRONT TIRE FAIL (BELT SEPERATION) SO PLEASE BEWARE!!!!
BUT ALAS I DID SAVE THE BIKE AND RETURNED SAFELY ....I GUESS WHAT IM TRYING TO TELL YOU ALL IS THAT THE ZX10R DOES LIVE UP TO ALL THAT HAS BEEN WRITTEN ABOUT IT. IVE OWNED RACED AND RIDDEN PRETTY MUCH ALL THATS OUT THERE AND I DO LOVE MY NEW 10 . BE WELL RIDE SAFE AND ALWAYS REMEMBER....
FIRST IS FIRST AND SECOND AINT SHIT ...SECOND PLACE IS THE FIRST LOSER....

Umm... Sas?

We're right here - no need to shout.

Glad you made it to and through the Gap. Now come ride the Coronado Trail - a road that separates the men from the posers. No guardrails. 3000 foot drop-offs. 29-mile long sections marked 15 MPH (and they mean it, too).

Turns out the 10R is pretty good there, too.

Did you ride the Cherohala? How about the Foothills and Happy Valley?
Too bad you missed us by a few days....
Had fun with Bart on his ZX10. Im sure it was a blast!
Where did you ride from??

We stayed 6 days and rode about 1100+ miles. We had rain for 3 off those days.

Well, in reality, I think you'd bounce after 150-200 feet, but you probably wouldn't come to rest for quite a bit more... but yes, the valley floor is several thousand feet down.

I didn't mention the Forestry Service conducting a burn - from the road - smoke and flames 20 feet to either side for 400 feet in one spot. Or the gravel all over the road just past the mine (Morenci open pit copper mine), nor the rockslides in the apexes a few dozen miles later.

Sorry, Sas - I hijacked your thread.

US 191 (or 666, depends on the age of your map) from Safford, AZ to Shiprock, NM (and beyond). It's called 491 these days from Gallup to Shiprock. PC correctness, I guess.

The real fun part is from Clifton, AZ to Alpine, AZ. Side trips to the Canon de Chelly are recommended once you get further north. Further north yet, are Telluride, and 550 to Silverton and points north...
