How to visually tell between stainless and titanium?

Hey my friend just picked up a TiForce full header system, used, and we are driving ourselves insane trying to figure out if the header pipes are titanium or stainless steel...

There are no visual markings or indications that explain otherwise, nothing at all...

Can anyone oh please anyone help me differentiate so I can figure this out.

Thanks.

Stainless steel is much heavier, Ti has a more goldish hue. I've got my Ti can and can't believe how light it is. Haven't got it on yet as I'm waiting on the s/o elbow, but when I took the can out of the box I was shocked at its lightness.

Hey Rob...thanks for the response. My friend, "lrg" on this board, said he talked to you already...looks like it is Titanium after all.

Yeah we are amazed how light it is as well. Something like 9 pounds for the entire system, so much lighter than the stock. The quality of the TiForce is insanely good, nice looking welds all the way around, and just a clean, nice looking pipe. We are going to throw it on his bike (03 GSXR1000) and I cant wait to hear how it sounds.

Thanks again Rob, we appreciate it!

No prob guys...timing just happened to work out for the "good".

The 1K with a pipe is a tough act to follow...you should see between 12-16 hp with a PC3,map and a filter over stock.

Enjoy!
