It's not about how we feel, but what you feel. I would suggest waiting until all of the major mfgs have their pipes out. I am in no rush to get a full system, since the two of the tops has theirs. The Akro isnt' doing much from stock except at the very end of the rpm range. It's only a few hp over stock except at 12500, then it reaches almost 12 hp. Muzzy hasn't released their full system yet, but their slip on is doing around 5 to 6 hp gain, I am not sure exactly where that pwr comes in. The bike is new and theirs pleanty of time.

One the bikes I have seen and heard the Micron is rather lacking . The sound is a raspy note , high in pitch . Nothing like a Muzzy's or an Arata which are very deep .

The finish of the pipe seems ok . Not over the top like some others mentioned . Micron is not one of my favorites .

thats the nice thing about choices, you can have what ever you like. some like the deep throuty sound and some like the high pitched sound. i happen to like the high pitched sound, probably from growing up around the grand prix circuits in europe. the micron happens to do it for me and i don't find the quality to be sub par. for those that like the deeper sound thats great as there are many choices for them also, but far be it for me to say their system is lacking because it is not what i happen to prefer. i think as far as quality slipons go there is not a whole lot of difference in the performance you will see...

y'know, based on what I've read and experienced, the stock 10R exhaust is a pretty well developed system and pretty decent looking to boot (ie. not too big)...it obviously doesn't hamper the bike's performance too much...

some will buy an aftermarket system to save weight, some for asthetics, and some for performance gain...then you might have some people like me who buy these things because 1) I want my bike to look a little different, 2) I like a different tone, and 3) somtimes 'just because'...

any additional performance gained by an aftermarket system with these hyper-bikes (as if stock performance isn't enough ) is just a happy bonus for lucky ol' me

among other aspects of it, motorcycling is very much an aural experience for me...

See that is what is nice about choices.

I personally like the higher pitched raspy sound of the Micron pipe.

I think it adds to the tuned sound of the bike vs. the normal bassy tone that many systems have.

Since you want opinions....
In the end, it will be your personal preference and what makes you happy.
Ask some of the fellows with Arta, Muzzy, Yoshimura, Akropovic, and many others, they would almost never go to a Micron pipe.
Not trying to downtalk anyone, just opinions....

I would buy a Micron before I bought the Akrapovic . Micron is way less money and they sound the same . Both have a raspy high pitch note to them , icky .
