new Michelin H2 tires today

I installed a new set of Michelin H2's today . I got the 120/60ZR 17 on the front . As we all know the standard tire is the 120/70ZR 17 . The shorter tire makes the bike turn faster . Also the tire is lighter by a few mega-grams . Had to sound like Honda .

I put a 180/55ZR 17 on the rear . These tires are basically racing slicks . OMG , the turn in is scarry fast now . Handling is much much much improved from the Dunlop 218's . Zero warm up time and mega grip .

The Dunlops are a flat profile tire compared to the H2's . I used to have to actually push the bike into a turn on the 218's . I almost wrecked it turned so fast on my first turn . 5 stars for Michelin .

So does everyone agree for faster turning it's better to ditch the current 190 in the rear?

Kinda think for me the H2s would be over-kill so think once I finish shagging the 218s I'll try a set of Avon AV 49/50s.

I agree, the Dunlops are too flat.

I've just put a set of Diablo Corsa on mine and they work very well with the bike.
Putting a 180 rear on raises the ride height a few mill that's why it turns quicker. A 190 and 180 both have the same 'contact patch'.

How many miles did it take to shag your 218s?...mine was 1400mls.

I must have a "ringer bike". Even on the stock tires it turns very easy, much like a 600.

The 180 should turn in quicker. But depends on the profile.
