I'm kinda assuming he's done that and I imagine the bike has "left the building" already.

Otherwise, I'll fill ya in on Sunday.

Just Curious CBR 1K & R1 Comparisons

Kerry,

Now that you've posted the ZX-10R data, how did it compare against other new bikes you've dyno'd ?

If you look at the non ram air crank HP that each manufacturer claims, they are all within 2HP (172 to 174). So If no one is fibbing, you would expect them to be that close on the dyno.

I'd say it not too surprising really. Sure this may be less than the KMC provided machines, but it makes exacty what Kawi says it should, which is quite good. 150 HP at the tire does alot for anyone's grin factor

Good. That gives me a little more time to buff out the slobber & drool marks from the tank. My son likes your blue better than my black one....

He's a freestyle moto-x-er. Believe me, you don't want me to offer him a ride on it. Besides, he's got a F4I from the big H to play on.

Going out for a putt! Got 6.9 miles on it now in a week. Man the miles are really piling up....... See ya around 6:30 ish?

What is the difference between a bolt-on and a slip-on?

i believe that the bolt on is just the muffler and the slip on is the muffler and the s-bend pipe.

Yes - the muffler only is the bolt-on and the slip-on is the S-bend pipe (from exhaust collector behind valve doohickey) and muffler.

TAFB - I can e-mail you a full size on Monday if you'd like.

And excellent answer on the exhaust differences. You both get A+.

Can you define 'a few hp of one another'?

Can you be more specific? i.e. the numbers?!?!

I've listed them on a previous thread. Let me see if I can find them without Freek's help. If not, I'll post them Monday when I get to work.

Let me say that the sound from the bolt-on is exactly the way I think this bike should sound.

It's not obnoxiously loud on tick-over but as soon as we fired it up for the first time< I told Kerry "Don't change a thing".

Right as I was saying that he was trying to tell me how it sounds better when it's off of the choke circuit.

The bolt-ons's sound is a baritone, well fueled (I think you guys will know what I mean) rumble with a presence.

Then I rode home - this thing suits the bikes' Dr Jekkyl and Mr Hyde personality (dunno if it's the exhaust valve or?).

The noise level is very accepatable during cruising and acceleration while the tach is around or under about 6500 r's.

After 7k the harmony of intake and the deep bass, howl/bark combine for the symphony of noise we all pray we get when we spend $ for a pipe.

I don't think anyone will be disappointed.

One of the more reputable tuners (he doesn't fudge numbers) on another board just had the oppurtunity to do a back to back on the GSXR,R1, and ZX. There were all withing about 5 HP of one another.

Yep - if only the general population would take a hit offa the inhaler of reality to quell the fog that is mass(hp) hysteria.

So do your saying this thing rips in the higher rev range? How does it sound in relation to a twobro's pipe? All of the Jardines and Two bros have had a very similar sound in my opinion and thats why I liked them both. The new two brothers sounds very good. Deep, and when you nail the throttle you can hear that bike comming a half block away. But at the same time when just crusing it isn't obnoxious.. Is the Jardine similar?
