fender eliminator which rear fender eliminator do you guys suggest? Is the one from Ballistic Motor sports a good one or is there a better one. thanks

What's wrong with the stock fender? You rude bastards oughta stop and think for a minute. If yer gonna get the fastest bike, the very LEAST you can do is keep the damn flap on there to reduce stone chips on your buddies' slower bikes. Some people...

Ballistic motosports. It was $35.00 . Fit perfect, just have to buy turn signals ($15.00) . No license plate light though. I recomend.

I don't know if there's a "best" or "worst" so to speak since its really just a bracket to hold your plate/lights, its not like they'll be extremely different from each other, but I picked up the Ballistic Motorsports one and had no problems with it at all.
The ONLY issue or detractor from any of them (short of modifying the stock fender) is that the stock undertail has two grooves where the stock fender mounts that are about 2-3 inches long and if you don't use the stock fender there's two things that aren't as "neat" as they could be :
1. an approx 1/2 inch hole in the left side groove that you'll need to fill/cover with a grommet of some sort (but it does give you a nice spot to run your tail light wiring)
2. the two grooves are in plain sight and the undertail doesn't look as clean as it could.
I personally am using the two grooves to house two small LED type license plate lights. I am trying to find a set that will fit, or come very close to filling the two grooves completely, which would cover the hole and make it look nice and clean.
It would be nice to see someone make a color-coded plastic fender eliminator kit molded off of the stock fender that would blend seamlessly with those two grooves but I don't know that anyone is going to take the time to put that much effort into a fender eliminator.... i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I got the lights and eliminator from ballistic. Easier than ordering them from seperate places

Hey guys I am here to serve you guys if you have any questions, I pop in and out. Look for interesting posts, answer questions on fender eliminators. I am still looking into the filler pieces, the problem that I am having is getting ahold of another one to measure. Cause those pieces will have to be perfect to fill them.
We are looking into getting them done in black too, not sure when they will debut.

1. Thanks for the quick, clean service regarding my order a couple of weeks ago, went perfect.
2. with the filler peices, dunno if this would be too much manufacturing for you or not, but making them with built in/recessed/well done white LED lights of some sort for license plate lighting would be kinda hot. That's up to you guys tho....
as for the pics of my undertail, I'll try to click off a few in a few minutes, kinda busy @ work right now.

Yeah the only problem with doing something like that is that it kind of goes against what we do. The more elaborate you make it, the more the cost goes up, and as all of you can tell me build great products at a great price.

please note, wiring is simply/strictly for functional purposes at this time to hold me over till I find a grommet/insert/light design that works ....

they were in the section with the LED'd gear shifters and all that other junk...
I'm gonna go get another pair and try to make a plastic housing that fits in the grooves of the undertail, has a rubber grommet to fill that big hole, and will hold those lights nice and cleanly.

I was gonna mount my Eliminator in the same location for lighting purposes as well but wound up usin the rear most bolt location for a cleaner look.

did anyone else use the rear-most set of holes to mount the bracket, as I did? I also found that after removing the stock license plate light housing, there are two grey rubber bushings with little metal bolt sleeves that are almost the exact width of the undertail recesses at the rear-most holes. These bushings can be placed between the ballmoto bracket and the holes to make for a tighter installation without putting too much pressure on the plastic undertail, as the area between the two grooves is not exactly flat. Know what I'm sayin'?

made my own brkt. that covers the two slots and has built in led turns. once i paint it to match bike color it will blend in very nice.would post pics. but i'm not very computer savy. if anyone can post them from an e mail i can e mail them to you...

Ya know Dees if ya put the eliminator closer to the tailight it hides those slots alot better. Just a suggestion.

Hit me with an email, I'll show you how I modded my fender. Very clean look and it didn't cost anything. All you need is a Dremel tool, some skill and patience.

Yeah, if I want to do that, I just need to run to Home Depot and get some longer bolts, thats all. I'm still trying to decide which route I want to take. I kinda like the tag pushed back as far as possible.
I'm trying to keep my eyes open and see if I can find a pair of lights (preferably orange LED's) that fit flush/cleanly in those two slots, if so, I'll put them in as license plate lights and be done with it.

I went to Advance Auto last night and picked up a set of those little LED lights that DeesKo posted pics of, and I just have to say.... absolute crap! Don't waste your time or money on those. First of all they only direct light out of the end of them in a horizontal plane, and the light is barely enough to see one inch of the plate right in front of them. I could see no possible way to mount them so that they actually light up the plate. Dissapointing....
on a side note.... the people at Advance Auto don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground. I went in there and asked if they have any small LED lights and they told me they didn't carry anything like that, and to try Radio Shack. After two seconds of arguing (yes... you DO carry stuff like that), I gave up and looked around, finding a large display of all kinds of LEDs, in plain sight of the front counter.... [/rant]

Hmmm... that's odd, mine, while not the brightest in the world, do shine straight down onto the tag. I had attributed some of the dullness to the fact that I still have my temp tag (paper) and that once I had the metallic tag, it might reflect the light and seem brighter. I know there were multiple versions of the LED's there, so maybe we got different ones. I don't have the packages anymore so I'm not sure.
As for the people who work there.... hahah that's classic.
