Considering the lead time from production to air, the Busa isn't a bad choice. The ZX10 wasn't out when this was shot. But there was a GREAT deal of exageration. "easily tops out over 200 mph." "Corners like a road race bike." I was happy to see that a member of the sportbike family (?) got top listing. The V-Rod could have been their top choice.

I HAD A 01 ZX12R, THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL A BUSA COULD OUT HANDLE MY 12.... I SPANKED A FEW OF THEM... AND AS FAR AS SPEED, TO ME THE BUSA AND THE 12 ARE NECK AND NECK...LOOKS TO ME LIKE DISCOVERY CHANNEL GOT SOME PERKS FROM SUZUKI TO PICK IT... BUT AS I WATCHED IT LOOKED AS IF THIS WAS MADE A WHILE AGO...MAYBE PRE 12, LIKE IN 99, I DONT KNOW, ANYBODY HAVE ANY INSITE??

All I know is that its like most Discovery Channel shows (SENSATIONALIZED) I saw that one along time ago (2 years) maybe? Just picked up the new Superbike Brit mag that tested the 12 (modified) with the Busa (modified) and they all prefered the 12 over the Hayabusa again ?!?!? Handling was the key thing desision for the riders with both making over 200HP!!

All I can say is that was total BULLSHIT, I've got a ZX12R waiting on a BUS to try to out handle it and top out above 200......................Must be the same bike Elvis rides to work at McDonalds

suffice it to say that thediscovery channel isnt exactly staffed with knowledgeable sportbike enthusiasts. the 2 quotes zeta xray posted just shows u that the person making the decision or advising on the decision was not really into the scene, or was a suzuki fan that just told the producer their personal version of the facts to get the bike on the show. besides, given their leaning towards scientific innovation, the busa would win because of its superior and distinctive aerodynamics.

I think the producer of the show just likes ugly bikes! Busa's have always been #1 with me. 1 bus length behind!!!!!!! BUY WHAT YOU LIKE AND LIKE WHAT YOU BUY! Me? FUCK A BUSA, but that's just me. I like the 12 and the 10.

As an ex-hayabusa owner I'd have to say that for someone to say that one bike is #1 over other is ridiculous. That is just an opinion and nothing more. If you were to ask a die-hard harley rider he would name off a harley. Ask a person who only likes cruisers and he will not pick a sportbike. Like I said, as an ex-hayabusa owner I will agree it was a great bike. But MY opinion says it was a pig, it weighed way to much. Some like the looks of the Busa and some hate it. Again, just opinions. If you like your Busa then great. As for me I love my 10r and if we ever meet on the street I've got no problem riding together and long as you remember the 10r will serve you your lunch on a platter - but again, that's just my opinion, at least until we meet (lol)
Have a great day and ride safe......

If it edumacated a few Hardley riders and some of the Muscleless car crowds then the show did it's job.
Sounds like the Myth Buster guys need ta do a show on this.
Kinda like this here interweb thangy - it's all EV.

Discovery Channel? Isn't that the channel where they make rediculous cars mods with that famous Harley guy? Or watch some disfunctional family assemble motorcycles while every other word they spew is censored? Yeah, that channel is an authority on bikes!!!
