Muzzy Carbon/ PC3 Install

Installed the PC3 tonight and the Carbon Muzzy slip-on W/black ceramic coated mid pipe.
Airbox is a fugger to get out of the chassis to access the wiring connectors but patience prevailed. Sounds and performs great w/ the pre-installed Muzzy map. Need a filter next, BMC has released one as of 4/26 just waitin to arrive at a distributor.
Gettin closer to my 1st dragstrip appearance, lowering links installed, front strapped, 1 down 2 up on gearing, Sotts Rotary damper, mirrors capped off. We'll see if it runs close to my stock wheelbase, same mods gixxer 1000(9.72@144) or my Busa(9.60@146).Feels well up to the task so far.

Where did you get the mid pipe ceramic coated?? I am expecting my Muzzy carbon slip on soon and would like to do the same, was going to just paint it with header paint, but that probabbly would fade, right?

Skully, at a local powdercoating business, but there are several ceramic coaters around the states, just do a search if you dont mind sending it off. My first thought was heat paint but wasnt sure how it would look or adhere to titanium.

what do you mean by the airbox, you shouldnt have to mess with that to get to the wiring.

Thats where one of the connectors is tucked at, and the other is under the throttle bodies, you have to remove it. Pick up a pc3 and check the instructions, I was in disbelief at first also, tried to slide it over but not enough room has to come up and out, very tight fit I might add.

How stupid is that, they turned a ten minute thing into a circus. That is just plain stupidity just for a pc install.

you do have to pull the airbox to install the pc III, however, dont try pulling the airbox straight up, once its diconnected, just twist it ccw and it'll pull right out.

Sounds like a half a day work to just install a PC111. Have you rode the bike with no map installed to see if there is much difference in power and smoothness?

muzzy slip

Not Tuesday yet but awaiting the results . I want to see another 172 RWHP graph like the one Muzzy's posted . Also try to get that 177 RWHP on race fuel . Those are strong results .

Yes map was pre-installed by Muzzy before shipping, but seems it might be a little lean will find out when I dyno tune it here in the next couple of weeks until then I'm gonna ride, race, tinker with and enjoy for awhile.
Sorry no digital camera but a buddy has one will see what I can come up with, looks very menacing though if you can imagine with all Ive mentioned.

race gas?

Dket - when you use race gas, what kind is it, leaded or not? I'm in a class that requires leaded race fuel, 110 octane, so I'm interested in what fuels others are using, and if this drops the Hp numbers over 92 pump octane.

Don't forget it's oxgen content that will give you the big numbers. Many people mistakingly think it's all about octane rating. VP MR9 added almost 8hp on my 12, on the dyno. No other changes. No bullshit, just fact. It's leaded, 87 octane, and highly oxgenated. More info and lot's of choices at;

Actually MR9 ismuch higher octane than 87. They are just quoting a motor octane rating of 87. The research octane rating would be much higher.
So if you are comparing it to pump fuel you would use R+M/2 to get the octane rating your used to seeing.
