What the hell is a 'cheater slick'? I've roadraced for three years. I've used DOT race tires, rain tires and race slicks...Never heard of 'cheater slicks'.

Maybe they are yellow with black spots on them and are Cheetah slicks?

We used to use "cheater slicks" back in the 70's for street drags on muscle cars. They amounted to a slick with just enough tread cut in em that they would pass Dot and cover lincolns head.

Nope, haven't done a track day yet. But a set of 208GPs are in my future.

I switched to the D208GP/GP-A combo that I prefer to run after only one day of riding on the stock D218s. I like the quicker turn-in afforded by the GPs and the stability when leaned over.

The 218s seemed too slow for my taste. I'm giving them to a friend who likes trying out all kinds of tires on his 954.

Warning: if your rear axle hasn't been moved back, or you haven't modified your rear hugger mounting, the 180/55 tire will burn a hole in the hugger. It just barely touches the hugger at higher speeds. Almost 700 miles and mine is starting to bubble from the rubbing. A friend that also has a 10R and GP-A, but with about 1000 miles has completely burned through his.

Good excuse for CF hugger, huh?

If you slot the two rear mounting holes in the hugger it will lift up enough to clear a 190/55 Rennsport.

Did that, yesterday, for 190 / 55 Super Corsa.

It looked like even the OEM tire was rubbing lightly. Fastest I had bike, so far, was 156 mph, indicated.

I'll change to Metzeler Rennsports after the break in and before the first track day. Rennsports have worked well on previous bikes. Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa is also worth a try.

I use Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa
(190/55 sc2, 120/70 sc1),did you knew that their made in the same factory, they have the same compounds only the profile is slightly different.
In the Netherlands the super corsa's are most used in national competition.

How much are you guy's paying over there for a full tract day, over here where paying 160 EUR witch is 200 us dollars

Yeah... the Pirelli is a little faster to turn in than the Metzeler. On the other hand the Pirelli maybe a little more nervous in the mid-section of the tire. Both tires have great feel while cornering and feel very secure when riding near the limit.
