Why does the speedo say you're doing 170 if it's only 156? I dont understand why it would do that??? I just picked up my orange baby today and love it! Definitly the coolest bike I ever rode no doubt in my mind. Only complaint I have is the god damn mirrors! I have 102 miles on it now after today. Just bought some cool seat and tank covers from kawasaki with ghost flames on them it looks sweet! c-ya

I picked up a green one last week. Power Commander and Micron system went on the day i bought it..!! This thing is really a rocketship.!! By far and away the quickest bike i have had to date. Runs 142mph over the quarter.!!! I could only get 10.5 out of it, as the wheelies really do slow you down..!!

We are talking speedo indicated 170, right? Speedo indicated means you're doing what...156mph. I run the 12 over that all the time. It's when it gets to 200 that life gets interesting. 200 = 180mph on my gps. :-O

yes you are correct, i have a accurate speedo I use myself. It is about 156-158 at 170. All you newbies that dont know the bikes speedos are ALL OFF. the faster you go the more they get off, just the way it is. Pul up to a car once even at 60 you will be doing 56-57.

Ummmm, someone that doesn't know that speedos are WAY off on motorcycles, probably doesn't need to be on anything like 10R

So Matt,

Not only have you determined that you aren't interested in getting a 10R, but now you are qualified enought to determine who should?

Well if someone isn't knowledgable enough to know about the inaccuracy of a motorcycle speedometer... then I don't think they're knowledgable enough to be riding ANY bike as powerful as the 10R. I'd think that knowing about the speedo is pretty common knowledge to anyone that's spent any decent amount of time around motorcycles.

I'm more than qualified to form my own opinion

Want to know how fast your really going? buy a Sigma 1600 bicycle speedo
they are accurate within 1%, cost about $50.00 Canadian and they spin up to 199 mph, Sigma is made in Germany but are sold world wide, plus it has many other useful functions like a trip meter, actual speed, average speed, maximum speed, clock, actual riding time, stop watch, etc, etc, it can be set in either mph or kph.
Took me about a 1/2 hour to install and its nice to know how fast your really travelling at stock speedo's are at least 10%-11% out at top speed .....
