The service bulletin WTF

What are the justification and the source of this bulletin ??

Did the shim for valve are in titanium or what ??

For the filter everybody know (except if they do a filter specific for the 10r) the same filter are used from one company to the other. Just change the label.

So it's need justification and source for this bulletin at least some explanation.

Is that coming from Kawasaki ???

Or this is just a gimmick to sold filters ans shims (valve) at a hell high price ???

I come to this forum for clarification and keen insight from experienced riders and then something like this comes along and scrambles my mind.

Close has a damned good point.

There was some debate at to Close's point on the "notice" but that was removed by an Admin.

Hmmmmm....

Nothing was removed... that thread still exists and it's active in this forum... the service bulletin part of the thread is NOT for discussion. It is a service bulletin and was reposted at the top to inform the membership as it is VERY important information. Nothing more.

The inforamtion comes directly from Kawasaki.

There is no "conspiracy" here to sell oil filters or shims... (where do you guys come up with this stuff???? )

The service bulletin kinda says it all and I have a hard time believing this even needs to be justified with a response. Perhaps the membership does not want to be informed of things which the factory feels is important?

ninja, close et al... I can very simply solve this problem... if you are "offended" in some way be being informed of such things... I just wont share the information any more...

would you like that better?

ya.. it's a BIG secret conspiracy to make sure everyone's motorcycles, HEAVEN FORBID, are looked after properly...

now.. I can understand ninja's concern.. he is from Canada, and like me, has to deal with a very different problem altogether... Kawasaki "Canada"...

trust me ninja... our information comes from a FAR more reliable source... Kawasaki itself...

Fish, he's not from Canada, he's from Quebec, and as such, is suspicious of everyone.

Keep the info coming Fish, I actually printed that bulletin so I didn't lose the info....(It was the first post on the thread that had my mind spinning, at least now I know where it was coming from)....Its the little thing like the warning on the filters that make me love you guys, no one else around here I ride with has the 10 and without all of your input I would know half as much as I do about the machine. So to all of you "Thank You"

Like every service bulletin they're a bit short in explanation. So my question are did the valve shim are so different of other model. And did the oil filter are so different. I just tell the same oil filter are used in many other bike, I don't think the filter are so specific to this model.

About the source for sure they seem serious I just asking me question when I see some of those thing without justification.

I'm not offend or suspicious just a little skeptic. They surely have a reason at kawasaki to say that. And yes Kawasaki Canada doesn't seem to know anything about that.

Keep smiling.

I could talk to you at LENGTH about Kawasaki Canada.. it would just get me upset.. that's all...

I am sorry that I dont always have time to type out full background on every post or tid-bit of information.

And yes... the shims are that different. You'd risk destroying your valvetrain by using the incorrect shims (ones NOT intended for the 10R).
