zx10r fit n finish on the tail section???
Thought I posted this before but here goes:
The tail section right around the tail light is not meeting up correctly. The middle piece that covers the tail light keeps popping up, the velcro underneath that holds it keeps coming apart. The side fairings on the tial right where it meets the tail light is not smooth, its missing a little chunk on each side so it is not flush. Went to the dealer, looked at some others. Found a couple where it was just like mine on one side, found another that was perfect. Asked about it, was told that it probably would not be warrantied but to bring it in to service and see what they say. What do you all think. Any other zx10r owners notice this?

I have similar mods to my 10r and have had no problems at all with parts alligning properly. I bought a Micron slip-on instead. I'll send you photos because I haven't taken time to read how to post them.
What did you think about the installtion of the Scotts damper and then having to trim the key to be able to turn your ignition on?

The aftermarket parts were no problems whatsoever. It's the factory body pieces that are having issues from Manufacturing.
Scotts dampner - I just had 2 spares made and shaved them, no biggie....

Haven't noticed a problem there, but on the right side the alignment of the rear side panel, filler piece between seats and mounting hole is not even close. When Kawasaki assembled it, it was so far off that as they were screwing it in, the fastener was cutting away at the hole in the plastic panels like a router bit. They had flexed the tail section to get the hole to line up, which causes the filler piece to not fit flush with the panel.
JB, I think having to trim the key shows poor engineering. Instead of taking the time to make something that works, it looks like their only concern was being first to market. I am waiting for the Ohlins or others that won't require me cutting up my keys.

Hammerli> The adaptation of the Scotts damper to the 10R was a job well done all peices are well machined, it's the way KHI mounted the ignition on the top triple clamp that caused the clearance issue. Scotts is a great damper and I have one on my 12R, it is actually designed by Ohlins and you can see it on their site, but withthe Ohlins logo on it. I could have gone with the rod type damper as you are shopping for, I just made a different choice. All work well, I just hope I never have to find out how well. Let me know what you decide on, I'd like to see it on the bike.

JB, do you have some pics of the Scotts installed? If so, and if you can post pics, can you show one of how much trimming was required on the key? What is the advantage if any of the Scotts over the rod type?

I would say easy adjustability while on the move..... Also, trimming needed is substantial, you can barely get the factory key in. Got that solved pretty easily though....
