500 miles, finally! I was afraid I was going to park the bike tonite with 499 miles on the odo.
Rolled up to the ferry terminal across the sound, and looked down. 500 miles on the dot. Whew, no worries.
Got home and located my oil filter wrench, put the wee black beasty up on the pit bulls and took off the left lower.
Didn't want to put the Mobil 1 in it yet, so it's getting Motul for now. Had a gallon of it laying around, so I grabbed it off the shelf and filled up the filter before sliding the filter between the headers and threading it in place.
Bumped the starter a few times till the oil light went out, then started it and ran it for a minute to check for leaks. Then buttoned it back up. Checked it again and added a bit more oil. 3.2 quarts total, just like the book said.
Man, it's just so nice having that extra 2000 rpm. Once the ferry docked and spat me out, I was doing som roll ons from 3k to 6k rpm in 1st and 2nd gear. Very nice, very smooth.

Rode over to the racetrack (note that I did not say dragstrip) today and visiting with my buds while they raced in their respective classes. Saw a couple other 10Rs there, even parked among a couple hundred bikes was easy for me to pick them out. One of them was a friend of Megabytes, so it was nice to meet a fellow 10R owner. The exit before the one I live off of has some delicious backroads. Nice sweepers, clean, good visibility. Nothing too outrageous, but is sure is nice to take it up to 6K now. I was getting all boy racer and putting my knee down, then remembered I didn't have anything but a pair of levis on. Whoops! Better dial it back a notch, eh? Ah well, I'm thinking a track day in May will be quite tasty.
