Track Day Anyone gone to a track day yet? I am going this Monday. I had softened the compression dampning front and rear when I got the bike or my backbone would be 4" shorter by now. The streets here are pure crap. They are paved but they sometimes seem more like an off-road test track. I couldn't handle the stock settings. But the stock settings might be fine for the track. Someone has bound to have gone to a track day by now.
BTW 170# rider. Riding in "aggresive street rider/licensed racer" group. I may fit Dragon slicks for the track day. Or Dragon Supercorsa's.

Not sure of your weight but i would set the front and rear sag first. Have a look at the motorcycledaily track test posted December 22, this has suspension settings for a 195 lb rider.
Not sure what rider you are but be careful as everyone on the track day with a scooter will be trying to beat you. Ride safe and let the idiots go in front!

Why? It's a subjective experience. You've got all the objective information you could desire in black and white in front of you. Having owned an RC51 myself, I can tell you that the stock settings on the ZX10R were not as 'firm' as the RC51 was out of the box.
One good point that has been made by hokoyo is that a lot of peeps have not set up the bike for their weight (with leathers) yet. Anyone contemplating a track day should really think bout doing that before anything else, as it's in essence the 'baseline' suspension settings they will need to work from.

I have been tweeking the boingers. The bike is feeling better. There is one turn that I have ridden fairly often on my '98 R1. It is a long sweeper. The max exit velocity I have ever seen on my R1 is right at 100. I tried it on the 10 after the tweeks. The bike was making me feel very comfortable rolling into the throttle, hard!!! And just to see if I could, I kept tightening the line. No sweat. Exit speed 109. And that was more confidence inspiring than the passes on the R1. LOL. But now the weather forcast is for 50% chance of rain at the track. That sucks.
