Those who have or have ridden 10Rs... Frame Sliders?

Anyone take a good look and see where frameslides will go on the bike?

I missed a chance last month in Chicago to look at that, though Pit Bull is stating a #2 pin should work for their stands.

Does it look like any surgery is needed to install sliders?

burgerking - can I ask where you got this information from. I can't find anything on the net about expected release of these.

Thanks

I had those on those on my old bike - and tested them. Definately stop the engine work from suffering any damage, but don't get upset when the fairing around them gets cracked. After all, the bar is designed to give and take the impact, so the fairing is likely to get crushed. But at least it's only a small piece of fairing, especially with the new 10R panelling, rather than the crank case.

Did you have to remove any padding from the inside of the fairing? Also, what side did you drill the fairing from?

I Europe all these parts will be distributed under the Kawa banner. They will be available within 4 weeks. I am definitely going to get the frame sliders and the double bubble screen (for tourin ahem).
But no decent pics yet.

Nope, no padding was removed.
I drilled from outer side. The result looks much better.
BTW, I made a bit bigger holes to prevent fairing from cracking in case of crash. You can't notice that because of sliders construction.

Ron over at Pipe City is trying to track down Vortex's intentions for the 10R's sliders on my behalf. If they're halfway decent, and require minimal surgery, I'll let everyone know.

Am I the only one to think the two pics here of the Kaw frame sliders look like two different ones. One looks stubby, the other longer?
