My black baby is finnaly home. As i woke up this mornin outside was snowin so i thoght god must hate me or something. Anyway today could be fallin watever as longest im pickin it. As my dealer came to me we went to customs to unload it. Then on the way home was snowin so the box was soakin and eventualy came apart as we get to dealers. Then we start to uncrateit and put it together. Finnaly it was time to put key in it and start it for first time. It was awsome. But then oil light wouldnt come off. huh i started sweatin and really thought that god must have something against me. The dealer said i should blip the go handle to put some presure tomotor but i didnt want to do it and ask him to call importer for advice. The replay was change oil filter. Ok we did that and as i start it the light came off. Huh wata relief. I also did 300meters on it LOL. Now is sittin in garage and im prayin for good weather. The last part # is 4100. I will sleep on it today i guess

In rare, but not totally uncommon cases, an air bubble can get trapped in the oil lines during shipping and will actually stop the circulation of oil. If one was to remove the oil pressure sensor and install a pressure gage, it would indicate that there was no oil pressure.
The soulution is to remove the oil filter and tap the starter button (don't start the bike) until oil comes out. It's called "burping" the system. Put the oil filter back on and replace the lost oil.
This happened when my 12R arrived. No one knew what the problem was at the time and I ended up franticly waiting an extra day until we got the call from KMC explaining what was the likely problem. Until then I and the dealership were afraid that there was something majorly wrong with what was to be the first 12R in the state of Arkansas.
From what you described, it sounds like you had a similar problem.

Well importer said that is common to some kawi models and that filter couse problem. And my dealer said he had some kawi models with same prob but then he ussually blip throtle to some 4-6000 rpm and everything was ok. i refuse to do that on my and as we change filter light came off in instant as it should.

Thats interesting...
My mate picked his 10R up from the dealer last Saturday. And on the way home, his oil light came on also.
he stopped, checked the oil level in the window, which was fine, so he continued on home.
A few miles later the oil light went out, and it hasn't come on since.

Maybe its just fluctuations in the oil pressure as things seat themselves?
