Zed says "Hello!"
Hello to all the regulars from Zed, across the pond in UK. I normally post on ZX10RNet, but as already mentioned, it gone bang...
I ordered a Green One from my local dealer earlier this week, and was told 2 - 4 weeks. Handed over my ZX9er tonight as part of the deal, and was surprised when told I could have a Blue One right away, if I wanted it. Doh!! I turned it down...
Was I right? What do you think?? Should I go back in the morning??? Are the Green 'Uns truely faster????

Well Papa, orange would have been challenging for a place, but they are not (nor will be) on sale here in the UK. C2D - there's too much coptonite around here for Superman... Guess my 1st choice stands? But there again, I could be rollin' tomorrow !! Help...

-how long is break-in period? intervals?
-planin to change oil in first 50 miles?

The rear fender is attached to the rear cowl by a total of four bolts. Two of the bolts come up from the fender to the rear subframe, and two go down from the subframe to the fender. Looks like a piece of cake to remove and fabricate a small plate that will hold your signals.

Hi Geezer! How's the running-in going? As it's now Sat pm and howling a gale outside, I have decided to wait for my green 'un. I'd love to know how much yr dealer charged for the Akra...

Yo Zed
just got back from another 100 mile ride in gale force winds and heavy showers.....still, i enjoyed every minute of it, the 10R just seems to cope with any road condition you can throw at it....with ease.
I've now clocked up 340 miles and i'm letting her rev a bit more freely now.....more miles tomorrow hopefully, as i need to get her run-in ready for my track day at Cadwell on the 8th April.
The Akra cost £375 GBP from my local dealer...
take care now..

Hiya Burgerking! Well, it's been tough, reading about Geezer's ever-increasing mileage. If I had not accidentally gashed my thumb on thursday night, I may well have given in and got the Blue One.
However, I have steeled myself and am happy to report that it's gonna be Green or bust...
Have you got your baby yet? Any date?

Zed, well it looks like the last weekend of April, the steel braided (Goodridge) brake lines are on the way and hopefully the Ohlins steering damper will be available as well, so it will come with the bike.

Burgerking,
did you plan to have the bike that late, so that your goodies would be available from new, or is the supply of ZX-10Rs a problem in the Netherlands?
New owners - keep them reports coming in, they keep the rest of us s-a-n-e!

Zed, yes I planned it like this, you never how the weather is going to be, so all my new bikes came april/may. That way I am sure that when I've got it I can ride it whenever I like. My dealer already has got 5 in. He actually sold his demo bike since the green '04 are sold out in Holland.
