Where Should I buy my ZX10?
I am sold. I have read every word of every review.
I live in Washington state but work on the East coast, mostly in Virginia. I have checked and I can buy tax free out of state and register in WA.
Who has some local experiece with MD, VA, or other dealerships who will cut a decent deal. I would like to pay $9700 with the rear seat cover included but not including WA tax and lic.
The bottom line is that I am willing to travel to get the bike. If I was home I know the manager of a dealership who would get me a bike at that price but it cost too much to ship it to VA.
Thanks,
Jeff

I live here in VA and I am thinking you will have a very difficult time finding that price anywhere in this state. I have been working with a shop in NY and the cost is $9,914, you pay your states taxes, title and tags.

I have a home in Woodinville that is on the East side just North of Bellevue. I know the fleet manager for Dick Hanna car dealerships in Vancouver. They also have a Powersports shop with Kawasaki and Suzuki and he said he would help me out if I wanted a bike. I have purchased two SUVs from him since 1999.
I have my VFR to ride when I am at home but need a bike to keep on the east coast for this year. I want the ZX10 in Black. The only thing holding me back is that I have not 100% confirmed that I have a garage to keep it in.

I would probably pay up to $9900 but I want that rear seat cover.

You will have to negotiate that one yourself, it really doesn't look that great...
Where in VA do you work/live?

I am in the Dulles - Herndon area but get as far south at Norfolk.
I am not sure I could do Dulles to Norfolk on a ZX10. I would ride my VFR from Seattle to Salem. The only problem I had was sneezing inside the helmet. The alergies in central OR are very bad.

I had my partners R1 for about 10 months and even broke the bike in for him while he was stationed in Egypt. It's seating position is very similar to the 10R, I have ridden it to my Mom's house in Havre de Grace, MD. That is about 30 minutes from the DE state line on I-95 North. I had no problem with the ride there, I am 41 years old and receive a diability check from the Air Force because of it. I really don't think it would be as big a deal as you might think. Beside, the dealers down here are really cutting you much slack anyway, that is why I am going through the shop in NY to get my 10R.
We ride up to your area (Northern VA) routinely on our bikes and I will be heaed there when I pick up my 10R for my break in miles.
Peace,
JB

Jonnyboy sorry I didn't reply to your email. I wanna give my dealer a shot because I did leave a deposite. If he can't give me a deal after the bike comes in then I can go elsewhere. But he did say that they beat prices so we'll see. Thanx!

I did the same and that is why I am going to get my deposit back from the crooks. I had been after them about a price since the first MSRP had been released, he told me he had to talk to KHI. Yeah, right! I had told him regardless of what KHI had to say, that the shop is responsible for setting the price to the customer. I guess I am not a loyal enough customer then. I asked him to sell the bike because I wasn't going to pay him what he was asking for it and that I would come get my deposit back.
Anyway, let me know what you want to do, I am waiting for Randy to make his decision and then I'll do the damn thing with the shop in NY.
Peace,
JB
