ZX10R, My Thoughts!
Sorry if to long:
Where to begin...I'm 39, active military for 19 and have been a rider for the majority of my life. I've never bought new, always liked the deals on used much better. Then, about a year ago it happened! My buds and I were doing what we do best and someone says, "have you heard about the new ZX10R Kawasaki is going to make". You all know the just of the conversation, how long it can last, the hopes, the dreams and of course the [I Hope Kaw thought about this and/or that]". Whew, the poor little beers we killed that evening 
Everything changes in due time and about 2 months ago I sold my 2000 TLR, (Fun bike BTW). I'm home on leave (mid-tour, from Korea) and I get this call last Friday from my bud: "Guess what just came in". I ask color and my bud said, "Didn't I Call You". So, Tuesday afternoon I brought home a pretty little green alien with a tattoo nicely placed on both sleeves that simply say "ZX10R"!
Holding her birth certificate I realize she needs a name and out loud I heard myself say "Nasty" as I pushed her go button for the first time. With no fuss she came alive, opened her eyes and started a growl that still echoes within my head. OK, Nasty it is! I've taken her out for a few slow crawls and twice she has tried to walk. Yeah, I scalded her over that: she's just too young to be walking!
Now that Nasty as eaten a few bugs and scuffed in her shoes I figure it's time to change her overall appearance, just a bit. Last night I yanked off the ole mud flap and to my surprise, Kawasaki has done something rather nice here. There is two openings that run along the under tail about 1 inch wide 4 inches long and the same apart. Be a real nice place for flush mount bright LED blinkers! I've got a few more things to do before I'm finished with the back end. But the pluming that came with the bike works well in the tidy up area, least a place to start.
Grips so far: Kawasaki, what were you thinking when you placed these mirrors? Even the fastest toddler looks to see where they've been every now and then!
Praises so far: Damn! I've rode TLR, GSXR1K, 636, F4i, ZX12, TLS, 954 and R6 to name a few. Personally, I think Kawasaki did too before designing the ZX10R. There are no magic words I could use to express the feeling you'll receive once you first let out the clutch. I can not say for certain everyone will like it, but I do. Will I chrome the wheels like on my last bike, no! Will I polish bits and pieces here and there, no. I picked up a green bike for riding purposes, not for show. My old one had 22,000 on it when I sold it. I do not hang out with people that own bikes...I ride with the one's that actually ride theirs. May Nasty bring me a many satisfying rides and may I always bring her home safely. Yeah, there are some things I'll change here and there but I assure you, nothing major. Lastly, I'll not loose focus on why I brought her home, to "Let The Good Times Roll"!

That's a great post. I too agree that this bike needs to be ridden, instead of shown. I'm still waiting on my Green and I'd hate to see that a bunch of posers are getting their bikes and "tricking them out" even before those of us with our mouths watering even get a chance to ride it.

All, I must say I went to my friends dealership tonight and finally saw a ZX10 in person...I then got to sit on it and move it around. All I can say is "now I really want my 10 to be here". It was the slow green one but my god...it was just simply awesome and I haven't even heard it run yet. I now know for sure that when mine finally does get here that I won't be disappointed. Man that bike is awesome!!!!!

welcome to the board you all....lukn, I think that is what we all felt when we brought them home.....I had to truck mine home from Tn to Louisville ky....didnt get to ride it for the first 2 days as it poured, I played hell getting it out of the truck and into the garage in a down pour...was well worth the wait though....
