Lockup questions

I was looking at the MTC website, and the 2-stage lockup is a little over half the price of a multi-stage lockup. My question is what is the difference between a 2-stage and a multi-stage lockup? Why is the multi that much more expensive than the 2-stage?

With the multistage there are one more set of springs in behind the fingers that adjust how fast/hard they apply force to the pressure plate.
On a single stage lockup the fingers are just flopping around free.
Hope this makes sense?

What he means is....on a 2 stage all the fingers open together, due to centrifugal force, and press on the pressure plate to supplement the spring pressure of your clutch springs.
On the multistage, each finger has an additional spring, the purpose of these springs is to DELAY the finger applying pressure to the plate and, as each of these springs can be of different wieghts, you can control how fast and how much each finger applies pressure. This gives you a much more progressive lockup action, so it's great for streetbikes.
