Aussie need help?
Hi guys,
Tomorrow I will receive my Spencercycle extensions for my 12.
I think i'm the first aussie to go this way and your advise will be appreciated.
Soon, there will be a drag track where I live (Sydney, Eastern Creek) and I intend to represent!
My bike is an '02 fitted with a ceramic coated Micron Serpent, modded filters, sump suck, modded stacks and a 50HP dry nos setup. Holeshot Powershifter.
I weigh about 100kg, with say 4-6" over on the arm, what are my best options for the rear cog? (I need to cut a new chain)
At present ive got 17F and stock? rear and there is no way I can hold it down in 2nd under spray.
Also, is it worth changing the clutch springs to the ones out of a 2000 ZX6?
One more, If I do as RAC4IT says
"Get more agressive on dropping the clutch out of the hole, just LET IT GO."
is it likely my stock basket ('02) will shit itself?
Regards,
NOS Rob

Rob,
I know of clutch baskets coming apart on stock bikes so I would really be uneasy of yours with the power your bike is making.
The stiffer clutch springs may help since you are gonna spray but the '02 12's springs are pretty good.
I've never had anything but a stock arm so I can't help you out on the gearing but I'm sure there will be some help on that question soon.
Good luck and watch that stock basket.

I would keep the 17t front and go with a 47t on the rear to start with and see how you like that. You also need to get a billet basket asap.
Good luck

baskets are hit or miss. I used the stock basket for almost 2 years no problems but that was at the +/- 170rwhp level going 9.60s stock wheelbase. Sounds like you have significantly more than that already, longer wheelbase, more power, nitrous... better to be safe than sorry. Drop the $$ on a billet basket now otherwise you could be buying cases later!!
