Saturday Gville TNT, nitrous jetting

Tomorrow there will be a $15 test-n-tune at Gainesville Raceway from 10AM-4PM. The weather looks good; partly cloudly, 10% chance of rain, temp around 75, humidity around 60%. Homecoming is this weekend, so traffic will be heavy in town, but the track might not be too crowded.

I plan to dial in the nitrous jetting on the ZRX to see what kind of ET/MPH I can run without a progressive box. Think it will take a 100hp hit without wheelstanding at the 330? Maybe I'll be better off getting into a 40hp shot earlier. Prolly somewhere in between. Any advice? I'm at 64" with a shootout tire.

I think that 100 before 3rd will be a crap shoot.
Will it stand up, spin, blow or go?
good luck and keep us posted.

60 in second will problably get you there qicker will less mph.

With your wheelbase....you should be able to handle an 80 easily...I can spray in 3rd on a street tire and stock wb....but I dont have 8 extra inches and a sticky

I don't have a clue but good luck! Your progressive box burn up? I know they don't give those things away.

The 5-dial box flaked out a couple months ago, and I've been putting off the reinvestment until I got the motor running OK again. I'm on the eBay prowl, but there's a good market, no real deals. So I got a $3 thumb button til I find something.

After playing with the gearing, clutch, and jetting I ended up running a 9.27 and 9.34 @ 152, 6.09 & 6.13 @ 122, spraying late second gear. I need practice with the button. I can definitely feel the lack of progression - the torque rush is awesome Next time, bigger jets

OEM head gasket is holding fine BTW- stock block, no orings, 110 gas, 4 degrees retard. Beautiful day, but kinda hot, 80s, humid, and with a headwind.

Chris Jones was having some trouble launching hard, but ran some 9.0s @ over 170 MPH.... I think Todd Schnitz will be running it in SBS next week.

I will be at the Prostar race Thurs-Sun, running on the motor only. Not enough practice with the spray to hope to be consistent. I don't have a bellypan or diaper to pass tech anyway. You coming Karl?

The Jones Busa is a turbo of his own fabrication. It's actually a new motor and turbo from the one he ran earlier this season, and he's just getting it figured out. Plenty of power on tap though.

On another topic, I see Ryan and the Muzzy Prostocker just missed the field in Pomona... woulda been a nice way to finish off the season. Looks good for next year though
