Has drilling the puller helped you out?
I've heard of cutting four grooves at 90 degrees apart around the shaft to help out instead of grinding one side flat like I do......Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dan

Hey Oldkawboy
Yes it does work..
Almost 30 passes with no sign of even a slight burn mark and yes I still slide the clutch.
You will need a carbide bit or better and a drill press, I used a .125/ 1/8" bit.. It's a little big so go with a small size maybe about half that .060 to a .087 or so..
When you pull out the puller rod measure 1.65 from the small end that's has the hole and drill there...
The only problem that I have with the 1/8" hole is that I get alot of oil between the steel and the fibers that wants to pull me thru the lights when staging the bike. But I have gotten use to it and it's not that bad... But my steels look great so I will put up with that problem anyday....
One more trick of the day...
Cheap clutch fiber and steel pullers...
Go to your local hardware store and ask for a couple of Paint can openers... They will fit perfect inside the clutch for pulling out the fibers and steels... I have been using them for about the last 3 months and they also work great....
So now if anyone else has any tricks that they have been doing to make doing a job easier.. lets share them....
DR JOE
P.S. Please let me know what size you use and the luck that you have with it...
