Ping MadMike (Oil Accumulator Pics)
Mike,
On an earlier thread, you said that you were going to take pics of your oil accumulator system and post them. Did you ever get around to taking the pics? Can you please post them?
The season is almost over, and I'm thinking either installing either a dry sump or oil accumulator in the off season. I'd like to go ahead and get as much info on both as possible so that I can make the decision soon.
Thanks!

I actually did not end up mounting it to the bike but if you would like I can mock up how I was going to mount it and you can see that? cool I would reccomend one or the other running with bars. I am saving mine for a project that I am working on....

That would be great. The mockup would be cool, but I'd also like a picture of all the parts separate from the bike too if that's possible.

Guess WHAT!!!! We were just about tho put these on our website. We have expereinced brisk sales with the units. We have sold alot of them to Busa owners that have the big stroker motors. The web page should be up by the end of the weekend.
We are a stocking distributor. We keep them instock. I beleive we are the only stocking distributor that has the motorcycle kits on the east coast. The price is $325.00 for the electric valve type (which i recommend) with a addon of the liquid filled pressure gauge the price is $355.00 plus shipping. I highly recommend the liquid filled gauge for motorcycle applications. We even have polished CNC aluminum brackets for the systems that make installation a snap. Cost on the bracket is $60.00
No need for the dry sump system..unless oyu are running the bike REALLY low to the ground..ie funny bike or Pro Mod. Just install an accumulator.
The unit weighs only 4 pounds and is a perfect add on to the ZX12r or any ohter bike. The accumulator system is 2 qt system that we sell. With this system you bike will never be out of engine oil pressure! These are perfect for big motors, strocker motors or stock motors that are being dragraced. We mounted our in the swingarm and just tig welded the bracket to the arm. You would need a extended arm to moun this accumulator system.
General Overview
Accumulator Operation "Electric Valve"
To Prelubricate the engine before initial start up, turn the key or main power switch to the run position. Depress the MasterLube switch to the spring loaded on position and wait four to eight seconds, or until oil pressure registers on the engine's oil gauge. Now release the switch to shut off the MasterLube's valve assembly and start the engine.
Once the engine is running, even with the valve shut off, the cylinder is automatically refilled with the oil that was just used to Prelubricate the engine, and is ready for the next start cycle.
Mounting
The unit needs to be mounted within 20 degrees of vertical for maximum efficiency, and for proper operation of the "Mechanical Level Control". When initially mounting the system, locate the oil "inlet" on the engine to ensure the steel braided hose will reach. The air valve/plug assembly needs to be accessible to add oil and to pressurize the system, as well as to have the ability to read the MasterLube gauge.
Hose Connection
The hose connection should be considered before mounting the unit to ensure that the hose is of proper length. The hose connects to the engines pressurized oiling galleys. The connection should be sealed with Teflon paste only, and the swivel connection needs no sealant
Engine Connection
When the system is to be used as a "Prelubrication only" type of system, a 1/8" or 1/4" pipe port into the engine is adequate. The smaller the port the longer it will take the system to Prelubricated the engine. If the system is also going to be used as an Accumulator System, then a 1/4" pipe threaded port engine connection or larger should be used for adequate oil flow to protect the engine and to prevent pressure fluctuations.
Black Wire
The black wire supplies power to Electronic Valve, and is connected to a spring loaded switch when the system is being used for Prelubrication. If the system is also to be used as an Accumulator, then the switch needs a "locked on" position. The optional MasterLube switch has both a "locked on" position, with "center" being "off" and the other position being "spring loaded on".
Calibration
Always release any cylinder pressure through the fill plug assembly before removing it! Be sure the Mechanical Level Control ball is free in the cylinder or is floating. Fill the cylinder 1/2 full of oil, reinstall the plug assembly Now pressurize the system, preferably with nitrogen, to the same maximum pressure that your engine creates. Always check the air valve and plug sealing O-ring with soapy water to check for pressure leaks after calibrating the MasterLube System.
Checking Calibration
The best way to check for the proper "Gas charge to Oil" ratio, which should always be done with the engine "cold", we recommend a 50% air to 50% oil ratio for most applications.
Turn on the MasterLube system switch and allow all the oil to flow into the engine (even if the engines oil pressure gauge shows pressure), until the MasterLube gauge quits moving. The Mechanical Level Control is now "seated". Check the pressure remaining in the cylinder on the MasterLube gauge. If the gauge is reading "Zero", check the pressure at the air valve fitting like you would in checking tire pressure. The remaining pressure should be approximately +/-5 PSI, half of the engine's maximum pressure used to initially charge the system. Adjust the pressure as necessary to achieve the proper reading. This will insure that the system is calibrated with the proper ratio of gas pressure to oil.
Thanks
Doug

Thanks again, Doug!!! Please send me a reminder here when you get the pics of the system on your site. I think that there's a very good chance that this will be my winter upgrade.

one item I was told to use nitrogen not air, and does that price include shipping? I know what I bought it for from Masterlube directly.

No...it does not. Mike , did you purchase the elecric solenoid type or the manual type system. This system also has the $30.00 optional liquid filled gauge and optional 3ft s/s line instead of the standard 2ft line. Without the gauge/extra lenght line the system is $325.00.
The systems can be purchased through MasterLube directly as well.....we just started stocking the units so guys would not have to wait 5 days to get one. If you are on the east coast...you can have a system in around 2 days and for the same price that you would pay to get it from the factory directly and have to wait 5 days. We also have these at the races at our diplays.
We have sold alot of the kits to the grudge racing Busa owners with big stroker motors and outlaw racers. The ZX12r can benifit from this system very well. Rickey Gadson runs this system on his bike.

Dang, I really want to put this on my bike, but I can't think of a place to mount the dang bottle since it has to be vertical. I don't have an extended arm, so I can't mount it there.
