Mike,
I am sure I got it, but at my computer at work. And anyway, the IT geeks are working on my laptop so I would have no way to get it into my PC3.

Better to try your map next Fri anyway, cause I am trying 17/51 tonight, and being the methodical old fart that I am, I like to do one change at a time.

Thanks for the map, I can't wait to see how it works. Did you make major changes????

Glad you will get it! No major changes, just a few slight changes, I also want to let you in on a little secret i figured out. shhhh... dont tell anyone. after you launch and your in your tuck, Make sure that your elbow's are agenst the Tank!! I know this sounds weird? but after racing all year I noticed this my last race of the year on my last pass, and you know what I picked up 1 1/2 mph on that last pass! just from pulling in my elbows! weird, but I felt them out in the wind, and thought hmmm. that has to be dragging me some, and wah lah!! was running 144 on every pass all weekend long! 2 diffrent days, and then I pull my arms in and run a 145.7mph!! it was crazy!! I could not believe it! but give it a try? It worked for me. Im sure I picked up a hundreth or two also!

whispering.... Mike I won't tell anybody, your elbows secret is safe with me...

Actually, I have never paid any attention to my elbows, except getting the right one high on the line. Good tip! I am about to leave for the track and the weather is too good to be true.

brrrrrrrrr, its cold in Houston!!!!!

Mike,
It got into the 50's last night!!!!!! BRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! I sure hope you guys (incl Angi) up North aren't having such horrible cold weather as we are. I had to put a turtleneck on under my leathers it was so cold!!! BRRRRRRRRR

I was having such trouble with down track traction, I only tried your elbow trick once. Of course that was my highest mph ever: 151.44 hmmmmm..... I'll have to work on it again.

My legs are too long, so that when I bring my elbows in i gotta find someplace else for my knees. I'm crawling all over that thing while toolin down the track moving ass, arms and legs; like a jigsaw puzzle at 150mph

Thx for the tip

Mike, I really think it did work, but need to confirm when I can make two passes in row without spinning.

I am guessing that I am having trouble staying in a narrow groove because the bike seems to want to go slightly to the right. Further I am guessing that this tendancy has to do with my 6" arm not being 100% straight. The r arm is 1/4" lower than the L arm(when bike is on the stand) and the r wheel is not perfectly vertical (tips to right). Over Xmass when the track is shutdown, I will pull the arm and get it fixed.

Mike,
I had my laptop and yer map at the track, all ready to blow yr map in after I got a good baseline, but it didn't happen. Last Fri was the last night of the year that the track was open and every shade tree mechanic bubba in E Texas showed up to see if they could finally get into the 13's with their "killer" street machines. too damn many cars.

The test will have to wait until Jan 4 when the track opens. I sure hate winter here, the track closes for a whole week!!!

Hondo,
A local guy did my arm, and I don't know that he did it correctly or not, although I suspect he did cause he has done a bunch of arms in the past and has a v good rep.

I haven't heard of anyone else havng a problem with arms being off so I am puzzled. He is fixing it this week and I am curious as to how it will come out. I'll keep you posted.

Another Secret... for your bag of TRIX

I will let you in on another secret to pickup trapspeed. This is an ancient chiense secret handed down from thousands of years passed on generation to generation of dragbike riders Lift your rear up off the seat while tucking. This will create smoother airflow over the tailsection similar to the windtunnel designed rear cowl on a Hayabusa. It looks silly but it works.

Jason Miller taught me this at his drag bike school two years ago. I spent an entire day getting one-on-one instruction from him and it was awesome. If you want to see an example watch the following videos (posted below) and you can literally SEE him (and me) lifting off the seat. I suggest you right-click and "save target as" rather than streaming them off my site.

Here is Jason Miller on a stock motor Hayabusa teaching me how it is done correctly yielding 9.35 @ 146. This video is a training tool I use to get motivated. Oh and YES that is me behind the camera.. I couldn't see the board so I had to ask what he ran. Go ahead.. laugh now!
http://berg.fbody.com/movies/zx12/JasonMiller_935_146.mpeg

Here's me using the same technique yielding 9.69 @ 148.99 and turning up the number one qualifier run against a Hayabusa.
http://berg.fbody.com/movies/zx12/Berg_969_148_Q1.mpeg

So does it work? Well I can't prove it but I weigh about 205 lbs (race weight with gear) and I have trapped 148.99 MPH and 149.66 MPH using stock gearing and stock wheelbase with 167 RWHP running thru the traps in 4th gear. It's just one piece to the puzzle. Add Mike's elbow tuck to the picture and pre-load your shifts and holding your RPMs as close to the limiter as possible and you will get a winning combination of techniques. I hope this helps you as much as it did me.

Good luck!
