doug meyer pc-3r question.
doug is it worthwhile upgrading to the pc-3r from the pc-3 on a 1270 motor? i have the muzzy advancer set at +5 degrees. i understand the theoretical advantage of being able to set up different degrees of advance at every combination of throttle position and rpm but is the extra flexability worth the money if you already have a pc-3? in other words does it show up on the torque and h/p curves in a dyno readout or in any other measure (responsiveness, gas milage, ect.). i am going to have the bike remapped on dynojet 250 with tuning link software this month and i want to install pc-3r if there is any real advantage. please share you're experience.

PC3 vs PC3R
I have a PC3R in my bike and a buddy has the PC3 + Muzzys Advancer in his bike which is setup identical to mine except his is red which means it's slower
On the dyno his bike with the adjustable advancer set at +3 degrees actually made 3 rear-wheel horsepower more than mine did with the PC3R set at +5. What does that mean? Probably nothing!
I also played around on the dyno with the PC3R timing tables setting +3 and +5 degrees advance and didn't see much difference at the wheels where as his showed immediate improvement. What does that mean? Probably nothing!
In other words- if you already have the adjustable advancer I don't think it is worth the extra $$$ to swap over.
I will tell you that I picked up MPH in the standing mile by pulling -3 degrees for top speed runs. Figure that one out and let me know?
