End of season and finally running......
Started running some times that I could post. I have been back at it for a couple months running 9.40 - 9.50's all day. It was like I had lost the weight in the right wrist.
Finally started the Bergie way of thinking and started chasing after Entropy again!
I am racing only my ZX12R this year. I talked Kzz1 into giving me the NOS bottle last week. LOOK OUT!! NOS is a good thing!!!
We had a heads up race last night with the Pro Tree(First time on a Pro Tree) but, I did get the trophy.
R/T.... .669

hey, good stuff Ang! Very glad to hear you are back at the track.
There's a 12R here locally on a 60" WB and 40hp nos that only ran 9.26's.
You' got it goin on and I'm sure you'll find some more in there. 6.03! wow!

I ran about 3 passes at 9.20's before the 9.14. I stood the bike straight up after the 9.14 pass, so I called it a night...Can't risk another leg!!!
BA,
Kzz1 installed a new clutch and I burnt it up in 10 passes last night. (About 20-30 minutes in between passes). I think that he will call you later about the lock-up!

Oh, I just thought of something that will provide just a little bit more relief for your clutches.
I do this, and have heard of others doing it as well
To help cool the clutches in between passes, I take the oil-fill cap off of the clutch cover to let the heat out.
I also rig up a way to pull the clutch lever in during cool-down, so that the clutches are not up against each other. They'll separate out, which should let a bit more heat out.
I use a velcro wrap to do it, but a small rock can also be put up by the clutch adjustment wheel, in that gap of the lever.
Tie Wraps work too, hair barretts, rubber bands, etc.
Also, you should be tilting the bike to the right side before and after a run. This will tilt the oil into the clutch area, soaking the fibers and steels.
Do this with the engine running, and in gear. Be careful, bike can get heavy!

WOO-HOO!!!
Angi is a' rollin' once again!!! GREAT pass and to top it off, THE TROPHY!!!!
I HATE the big wheelies. Your accident + a monster wheelie of my own is what made me go to the 10" arm. You have a 6" now right?
The lockup is where I am headed also, but don't know enough to choose between MTC's multistage lockup and the lockup. Maybe you can keep us informed about your progress with it???
Congrats! GREAT mph and ET; "knocking on 8's"!

Yes, I have the 6" arm.
I think that we are in the same spot as you Entropy. Trying to get all of the information on the best clutch set-up. I know that what we are doing right now, Is NOT working. I burn up a clutch set every other trip at least. I think that we will finish out this year then try something else next year. (we only have another month)
Not sure if I can get an 8 sec pass with my ZX12R but I am sure of at least 9.000's.... I am just happy to get my 60 ft's back down. I had been running 1.8's ....thought that I had lost my nerve there for a minute...Glad I got it back!!!
Thanks for all of the encouragement guys!

That's what I'm hoping Ang. This season has been a waste for me. I haven't been to the track with my bike once this year. All my time and funds(which have both been quite limited) have been directed elsewhere this summer and I need to roll some cash into my bike to feel cozy at the strip again. Not to mention being able to keep up with you. Then there was the whole foolish YZ50 incident that I am still suffering from. Just got the cast off my hand last week and it's still bothering me. Never thought a bike that size could bite me soooo damn bad. But, In the mean time I've just told myself to be happy with things the way they are. I still get a ride in on the 12 here and there. Hopefully this winter I can take care of some business and be ready for next season. Hell....This is only about the third posting I've had on this board all summer! I'm happy for you to be out there kickin some butt again though. YOU GO GIRL!!!!

N4S,
Glad to hear that you are at least healing. Takes a while to get back to normal. I miss racing with the normal people.LOL...... Allot of the guy's that have been at the track are just freaking jerks. They take competition to a whole different level.
I just like to have laugh, joke, have fun and ride my bike like hell. Doesn't matter how fast you go. We have a couple guys that have been going with us (just started drag racing). They are cool. You will have a blast with them next year (kind of like the GSXR boys).
Hope to see you two soon,
Angi

Nice going ANG!!!...What clutch set up do you have???...I have found that with softer clutch springs I dont wheelie as much, I use 6 1087 clutch springs now and it works real well for me!!!
Tilt the bike to the right with the engine running???...The oil is circulating, so isnt there alot less oil in the pan???...I tilt the bike when its off while I am waiting for the guy in front of me to start his burnout...

Crotch: yes, there would theoretically be less oil in the pan, since the goal with the tilting is to get some of that literally flowing into the clutch basket.
If you hold it 'tilted' for more than 15 seconds at a time, your oil pressure light will CERTAINLY come on, and naturally, this is dependant upon how much oil the person runs in the first place.
I usually give my 2 tilts before a run. Once or twice in line, and sometimes once right before the burnout.
