Whew! backed up my 8
I was hoping last week's 8 wasn't a fluke...
Woo-hoo! Yesterday at the Texas Shootout I got my backup 8
60'_____330'___1/8____mph___1000'___1/4____mph
last week, my 1st 8 sec pass
1.459__3.827__5.786__125.49__7.496__8.961__153.37
yesterday, best pass
1.463__3.808__5.758__125.92__7.458__8.930__147.18
It was an S/ET race and I shut it down hard after the 1000'; got the other guy by MOV of .0014 (shit luck), but it looks like I might have given up a possible 8.920 or so pass in the process.
I went out in the 2nd round on a redlite , but really didn't care. I got my TFA 8 sec club membership.
Chicken-legged ole fat guy
(Chris, thx for the pic)

Nice! I like the extended tail look on a long wheelbase bike, congratulations again! Can't wait until you put the squeeze on it!

Nice job, I bet you can get 8.80s on a nice night. The tailsection does look good, the bike doesn't look 68" long at all. Looks stock, sleeper-ish. Until the 8 comes up -- at 147 no less!!!

Richard,
The tail is a Beasley, and takes just a bit of fiddling to get to fit. The tail light was extended by simply taking a couple pieces of 1" x 1/8" aluminum bar stock and bolting them to the top of the tail frame, and bending them down to hold the tail light. Much fiddle-fooking around, but basically pretty simple. The undertail was done with a piece of sheet aluminum cut and bent, then pop riveted in. Not very elegant but workable.
3 tips:
1. don't paint it until you are fully happy with the completed fit
2. forget Color Wrong if you have a Candy Lime Green 12; rather go to PPG or other place with a scope, and have em mix and shoot it for you.
3. have em shoot the seat cover at the same time. If the color isn't exactly right (like mine, even after 2 paintings), no one will will ever notice.
I don't have any more pix, but may get some later; best way to get this pic is simply do cut n' paste, I don't have the original
Dean,
I also believe it has an 8.8 in it, because I have not tested coming outa the hole really hard yet. I am building up launch rpm little by little (4500 or so now). Also I am not pinning the throttle, rather rolling to WOT over the 1st 20' or so. I am a pussy, but may get the hang of it with time.
Bergie,
Me too looking fwd to putting NO2 on it, after I get the hang of the current set up. I will be bugging you (and anyone who will sit still) about dry shot set up options very soon. Pls be patient with my stoopid questions; i have no experience with NO2 except abusing it back in the 70's...

Bike looks great, Karl. I would've never noticed the extended tail section if someone hadn't already mentioned it. I see some easy 8.8s when it cools off, the barometer is right, the wind is at your back....I like it in Houston the next couple of months.
