Swapping cylinder heads '00 to '01 w/ECU
I have two 12Rs one '00 and one '01. The 2000 has a Lee's ported head that I want to move to the 2001 model. My question is can I SWAP THE HEADS as long as I ALSO SWAP THE COMPUTERS? i.e. move the head and ECU from the green 2000 to the silver 2001 and vice-versa.. Will this avoid the problem with cam pickup?

Yes I have done that! I have a 2001 head on a 2000 engine, I needed to take the ECU (and wiring) from the 2001 model. I have also installed the 2000 head and ECU on mine 2001 bike. (which is now sold)
BUT I THINK it is only the exhaust cam that is diffrent on the 2000 and 2001 model. The camsensor on the 2 heads is located on same place the only difference is that the pickup installed on the exhaust-cam is installed in an different angel on the 2 models. (have NOT tried this!)

So if you just changed the exhaust cams instead of the ecu you should be ok right?
