Wheelies and spinning off tha line..............
I know this probably has alot to do with the way I'm leaving, but you know how it is at tha strip. Nobody wants to help tha new guy get better because he'll be outrunning them later on.
Anyway, my last few trips to tha track I've been either wheelieing just around tha 60ft mark, or spinning. Can this be fixed in tha rear shock adjustment ? Or, is it gonna have to be adjusted in tha rider ?
Help guys ! I really want those 1.55 60 ft's !!!!!

you can stop much of the spinning by preloading the clutch as you ease into the stage light. After 400 passes finally Kerry told me that (duh!) and it works great.
Wheelies are another issue entirely; even with a 6" arm, I never whupped that problem. What helps is to get so flat on the tank, yr neck hurts to see the last yellow... Tonight I go to the track and see if my new 10" arm helps.

By 'preload the clutch' i think they mean to let the clutch handle out until the clutch starts to grab a little. Some people will do this while others like me increase the freplay in clutch so that it engages just a C-hair from the bar.

exactly, wannabe! It really takes a lot of the shock outa the system when you throw the clutch away.

Wheelieing downtrack can be lessened by going to a taller gear. It'll probably cost you more in clutch plates in the long run but you should be more consistent since you're not having to back off the throttle to keep the front end down. Some guys here pull the clutch in slightly instead of backing off the gas to keep the front end from climbing any higher.
