a NEW way (for me) to abuse the clutch!!

And I thought there were no clutch surprises left...

Pulled my clutch this am and found the OUTER 3 fibers were skinny dark toast (.123-.124) whereas the other 8 fibers are fine (.127-.128). Steels are perfect, only a coupla sm discolored spots.

Go figure???? Usually the INNER few fibers go first, with the other fibers wearing down along with em. When the fibers turn dk brown & get to .125-.126, the steels turn blue, into the trash they go, call Ron Ayers... Its a routine.

I wonder why this time its different???

Maybe its the Muzzy cams??? Bahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

Your cranking compression is too high, it should be around 200psi. That will stop ALL clutch problems!!!

I'm thinking it is the 84 pulls on JC's dyno...

It could be slipping on the big end, my mph is down a couple, but 330- 1/8 is OK, et's in the teens, so it maybe has a big end mph fade (152)... The weather was REALLY shitty tho...

As far as the cranking compression. With a bit more base shim and 109/111 cam settings, it's only making 220-225 or so (down from 255-260), and I don't know why that would hurt the clutch??

Nick,
It is indeed time for an MTC multistage, but i'm broke. Anyway, I don't know shit about setting up an MTC. [BTW: REALLY cool turbo you are building]

The 10" arm allows REALLY hittin' it outa the hole. Too bad I only got 3 passes on Sun before rain.

Big race this Suday at Red River, Karl. Great payout and should get lots of practice in too. Glad to hear someone is going down the track.

Not unless someone supplies me a ride and I ain't had no offers. They're supposed to have a 9.0 class also. Heads up, pro tree, don't go faster than 9.0. I'm still planning on being there though. Should be some good grudge racing worth watching. I've been working on a friends bike.....
