I run 17/46, but I am going to try the 49-51 to see if if will help. 17/48 did not help anything but my 60's at first, but since then I have a 1.493 60 with the 17/46. Getting my rear shock revalved, so maybe I can drop that too!

I weigh alot, so I run a 16/48. I ran a 17/48 for awhile....and it ran simular times, just had to work the clutch alot more out of the hole. BTW, Im 60". With the bike slammed....I can launch in my sleep with minumal clutch slip.....high 1.5's, low 1.60's with average launchs. 1.57 best on a shinko. This is in the 80 degree heat also, so im sure it will improve this winter.

Blah, blah, run what ya like. I'd suggest a gear tall enough that lets you get wide open in first gear. If your geared too low, you'll be fighting wheelies even at 6 over. Main downside to too tall of a gear is clutch wear and heat. I also ran 16-46 at 6 over and wheelies were still a problem downtrack. Never wore out a clutch though.
