Question for all serious dragracers

I was having a conversation with the guys at the race this weekend. One of them mentioned that during the reaction time clinic that he took, they told him not to look at the tree during the launch. They taught him to look down the track where he's going. Only use peripheral vision to see the tree.

What do you folks do? I look at the tree directly.

YCIS,

Man. I hope I didn't just mess you up by having you thinking about it. Kinda like asking a guy wether he breathes in or holds his breath while he's putting.

I would have to say that works for me in a way..The less attention I pay to the bulb the better my reaction time is. Ease up..Dont try so hard..atleast thats what everyone is telling me...LOL

I look at the tree and actually some people look only at the bottom bulb and some look at every light, which would be me, I watch the bulbs turn on and off. and leave like that.

Yea, I look at the whole tree. But I'm just a newbie, just been at it for a year.

Whatever you do, do it the same every time. After 3 or 4 hundred passes you'll be fairly consistent. I see the whole tree also.

I could believe you would let your periphearal vision work for a pro tree, but a full .500 tree I think it would be hard to hit the third bulb right.

Well, I am not a serious dragracer but I'll answer anyway.:d

I watch the tree also. I put most attention to the last two yellows.
