what i meant was keeping stock bore size with a bigger crank (stroke)

You can, but I don't know why you would want to. If you want more displacement, a big bore is way easier, and more reliable than a stroked crank.

ARH - why do you think aftermarket cases are required to run a stroker crank??

I thing Bergie runs a stock bore but 5mm stroke, netting him 1341 ccs. He runs pretty good on motor only.

I'd get "drop-in" pistons if I were you...to go with that crank...
You would need a spacer plate to go under the block as well...

That is pretty common now, lots of people doing it to be legal in various classes that are cc limited. Get good custom pistons if you're going under the knife to compliment the additional stroke. As Kevin mentioned use the spacer to adjusted C/R, Lee's often swaps out spacers to achieve his desired results, I'm not sure what the spec is off hand though I know he does not use the spacers that Muzzys ships with a 1361 kit.
