Im putting on a 6 over arm and wondering what I should do for a chain?..I dont mind buying a new one at all but am curious about the o-ring chain verses non-oring..Anyone have any input? Where and what and how much..lol...Thanks, Chris

A heavy duty non O ring chain uses less horse power...

OK, please excuse my ignorance, but what is the purpose of the o-rings in the chains anyway? Are you saying that they create more friction than the non-o-ring chains, or are they just heavier?

O rings keep out dirt and other debris that you would run into riding it on the street daily. A non O riing chain will require more maintenance though. Lots of cleaning and oiled constantly to keep a non O ring in tip top shape.
Might be that extra lil bit that gives you the number you are wanting.

Oring chains are also quite a bit more expensive, if that means anything to you. I have a RK530DR non-oring chain - the DR stands for 'drag race' -it's very heavy duty and requires a lot less adjusting than the DID non-oring I had before. That one kinked up in 3 months. I think I paid $100 for 130 links, just enough for 64" at 17/48.
