A FEW TURBO QUESTIONS

For those who don't already know,I have a turbo blackbird now,the motor is built from bottom to top,lockup,67 inches long(can be adjusted longer)MR TURBO race kit, garrett T3 high flow "red" injectors,w/both stages it pushes 335 hp at 30lbs of boost,240 w/14psi,bike has everything, cut tank(4inches),good stuff from macintosh,MRE,MTC,Falicon crank,Carrillo rods, and more. The question is why does it only make 335 with so much boost? What can be done to make 400-450hp?Mr TURBO says modify the turbo charger, but I don't want 50lbs of boost just to make that hp.I would think it would make more power, but I don't know shit about turbos.Any info will help,thanks.-By the way,I took it around the block today and hammered the gas through 2 gears with both stages of boost and it just about blew the 26" slick off the rim! That sucka hits!

30psi and its makin 330hp.....thats an insane amount of boost man

you want another hundred?

Well...going from what the turbo car guys around here do. Use a small shot of nitrous (even a 20 or 30 shot can make amazing gains on a turbo due to its cooling effects on the intake air temperature).

Or if that scares you...spray the nitrous ON the intercooler from the outside to make the intercooler work better.

IS there an intercooler? Have you talked to Velocity Barry, NLR Seb, Motorhead Dennis?

Need someone to test it out, offer a second opinion???

no intercooler,Terry Kiser from Mr Turbo says a shot of NOS would be good, but dry or wet is the question, the EFI system I'm sure only compensates for boost, not juice,I would rather just get more hp from the turbo, shit, the muzzy ZRX makes 475hp,so what's the trick there?Dean, that bike is fun to ride, loud as hell, and when it's cold,it's a pain in the ass to warm up.

My zx12 is going to be turbo....Im doing it the right way

Ive got gen7 dfi for it, 83 lb injectors, complete fuel system, built motor with carillos and some nitrous pistons(using a spacer), ti retainers and valvesprings, 68 inch raked chassis from mcintosh. My shit aint gonna be no pussy player, I plan on taking down some shit when I debut this bitch in houston....
All I need is to build my turbo header. I could do it, but I dont have a bandsaw to cut my stainless. Innovative is setting me up with a turbo and Job spetter is tuning the bike....I expect to put down 500 or so with the turbo Im using....I would like to go no intercooler to save weight, but I might just ship it to NLR to get an air to water over the nose(I'll need it )....havent decided yet. Give me a few months and you will see a 12 custom like youve never seen before. If folks are interested I will post up some pics of the setup and what parts are going into it.....

The busa I bought lastweek is only for 60 inch

The nitrous could be wet or dry depending on how much you want to spray.

Only way to find that out is to spray it on a dyno and look at the A/F.

Although I doubt a small shot would impact the a/f that much..and would probably gain more power than advertised just from the temperature drop itself.

Your T3 compressor is topped out at 330hp and all it is making is heat, not boost. Mr Turbo is right, get your T3 turbine mated to a T04E compressor, 46 to 50 trim, by Mr Turbo or Turbonetics or whoever your favourite turbo guy is and you will have a 450hp capable turbocharger that will make more hp at the same boost by virtue of being more efficient.

Whether your engine will take it is another matter

motor will take it, only prob is, he doesnt know what the fuel controller does, or how it works....I went and looked at it, some fucking gold box Ive never seen before. If it was a dfi system or something with a map sensor I could see it compensating for the boost, but who knows with the gold box of doom! LOL

Joey, I told you already, get that turbo off there so I can send it to innovative for you, and let me call terry tomorrow and figure out whats up with the box...450rwhp is only a turbo away dude.......T3s are for eclipses and SVO mustangs

to4e 50 trim turbocharger with a .63 ar stg 3 or 5 turbine wheel. There ya go free of charge. I plotted your info on a bunch of compressor maps and this is the best choice for your bike and amount of power you want to make.
