Really Ship? I didn't think those things would go that fast......

Haha, come on Doug you ain't foolin nobody anymore with that 199 run :-)
If I'm going 195.6 with the mirrors, signals ditched, full muzzys, pc3/ignition module, race filters wringing this thing's neck in GOOD AIR I don't see how a less aero 12 with a heavier rider and only a full exhaust goes 199.1. Quite the data outlier. Sal already pulled the conditions up .... good 9 mph tailwinds....means you put up an honest 190...which is still VERY RESPECTABLE, don't get me wrong.
But low 190s is the "norm", you know, I know that, anyone who's topped out stock motor n/a 12s knows that. Its been done for 11 years now. I'd probably go out on a limb and say I have more 12R LSR seat time than you do too. Again, I have nothing but respect for you, you are a pioneer and like you said you've been doing this for longer than I've been alive.
But on the flipside I wasn't born yesterday....what were you trapping on Karl's 1427 in the mile again? 199s?
The 199 run wasn't just with "a pipe" and there were quite "favorable" conditions involved. And with ZERO wind you know and I know you're never going 199 on a "stock" 12R with just a muzzy pipe. Just like my race 12 in its current config ain't going 229.6 without that big tailwind at Loring ;-)
All the best Mr. Meyer,

hey Ali,
uhhhh....
Doug was running 204-208 once I got the 1427 sorted out, 222 at Loring with the tailwind.
I loved that 12, but it just didn't have the guts to get my TeamFatAss down the track as fast as i wanted.
BTW: My NA Busa just ran 220 at Mojave and 218 at Texas, both into 5-7mph-ish quartering headwinds.
Ahhhhhhh, that's better ____________

Karl, you've run the 12 for many years.
Surely you don't really think a ZX-12 with only a full muzzy and nothing else done goes 199 with nothing else done and under normal conditions, right?
I'm not taking his accomplishment (the mph) from him, just like I ran 229 with the wind and yours went 222 in the same wind at Loring. But it is a bit misleading to claim that with only a full exhaust a 12R goes 199...leaving out the rest of the relevant data.
In fact, such a run has never been replicated evern in history and although yes Doug, I would consider you a talented rider not mentioning a big tailwind or the other things done to get to go 199....we know the bike has the potential with the right boltons to approach those speeds....I've put enough seat time in with my 12s, especailly the street stock motor n/a one now to truely get an idea of what it takes. Enough to know that with just a full exhaust and nothing else done, no wind it isn't enough.
