swingarm extensions vs extended arm
What are your thoughts on these. I will be riding my bike as well as racing it. I only want to go 3 or 6max over. I like the stock extension look and I am not a fan of the extended arm out the back of the bike.

I have no problems ridng mine like the dickens with a 6 over. The extensions are cheaper for sure, but you have to spend time installing them, then taking them back off. Adding chain links or installing a new chain every time you want to race is hectic. Although, I do get asked all the time how long my chain is!! Looks like it is 10 feet long next to a stock 12.

Most of the bolt ons extensions I've seen and used seem pretty adequate to me. I like being able to convert it back to completely stock looking. I'm not a big fan of a long, everyday bike. My bike will roast the rear tire on the street at 6" over even up to 100mph. Not much fun. I'd rather wheelie. Yeah, it's kind of a hassle taking them on and off but it's worth it to me. I could probably live with a 3" over arm without any problems.

I'm with Kawachan here. I was in two minds over getting the extensions or a extended arm. I opted for the latter just because i'm a lazy bastard and couldn't be bothered taking the extensions on and off all the time.

Slick & a bar, Just leave the arm stock...
Just ask Wannabe, he went nine seconds on a stock arm.
Then you can make your bike stock by removing the bar & strut,
It's much cleaner than changing out links with an oily old chain...

After what I went through, I would still opt for the 0 to 6 option! I do not like the idea of being "Limited" to anything! Traction can be elusive! 1/2 inch either can make all of the difference. I do not want to have an extension and need to be 1/2 to 1-1/2" shorter than the Extension will allow! I want / need it all!
