Baffled or not

I have a customer that rides wheelies as far as he can about every time he takes off he explained. And hence he came in last week with the #1 cyl. connecting rod knocking.Noticing this after only removing his I-pod and helmet lol.My question is to any one that can help about installing a baffle in the oil pan.The description on the baffle states for drag racing and stunt riding purposes, didn,t say any thing about daily usage.Would any body know if this will allow suffeciant oil flow and oil return into the oil pan and the oil pickup area under normal riding conditions.Or should it possibly need a few hole drilled, ot trimmed a little for saftey purposes?.The bike is a 2007 GSXR-600 and the oil pan baffle is the one sold by schnitz racing.Any input or help will be greatly appreciated Thanks.

Is he sure the oil level wasnt low to begin with? I have rode hundreds (if not more) wheelies that were 5-8 miles long on my 750 that had 70,000 miles on it and never had a problem

Oil has been changed every 2000 miles and customer says that he inspects it before every ride. Oil level was right on the full mark when brougt into the shop with this complaint.Cust. uses only motorcycle grade oil also.Noted that this certain cust. is not very experienced and pushes the bike well into the red line in which ever gear its in on the wheelie, drops down abruptly and back up again. I,m not so much blaming starvation as much as poss.cavation is why I,m trying the baffle more so as insurance. And since there is a baffle available for these bikes makes me wonder if there is an underlying problem somewhere in the oiling system any way.Especially going from a wheelie to a stoppie with the oil sloshing front and back abruptly

My friends who stunt use a swinging oil pickup. That seems to solve most of their issues with spun bearings.

so does that mean they are using a flat pan with a under swept exhaust? How does the pan not hit the header?

All of the oil pickups I have seen are for the 00-05 model bikes that replace the plastic one that I understand deff. needs to be replaced if doing 12 o-clock wheelies for long periods of time that picks up the oil from the rear of the pan and is not hindged or swings in any way and at times will turn on the (oil light) can't be good! when doing endos or stoppies.Stuntex is the company So I would imagine that one that would either swing or hindge would be a good idea if it would overcome the resistance of the oil viscosity and momentum. The piece looks like no more than a aluminum tube welded on a flange. The only thing I have found for the 06-07 models is the baffle since the oil pan and pick up have been redesigned. They also reccommend running approx. a half qt.or so more oil than specified. Also I recieved the baffle from Schnitz today and it looks like a very high quality piece.

What you are calling a roof is the same thing I am calling a baffle. The one I am using compared to the one pictured sandwiches between the oil pan and the engine block with 2 gaskets.Same results except I loose .080 ground clearance.
