Slider Clutch Lockup RPM?

On average what is the target rpm to have the slider completely locked up at? I understand that it is fact dependant upon a lot of variables so lets go with these details.

Weight: 600lbs

Gear: 15-48

Engine: 1500cc inline 4

Trans: 6speed 1-4 auto

Tire: 10" slick

Fuel Sys: Electronic Fuel Injection

Two Step: 5,500 rpm

Air Gap: .050

Normal 60': 1.15-1.18

Shift RPM: 10.250

Appx HP: 200hp

As I said I understand that each setup is different but there has to be a ball park figure of what I should be working toward. According to the data logger we are locking up at about 8,300-8,500. As bad as I hate to admit it I really haven't learned the basic's of the slider very well like what the difference is in increasing the installed height on the hat springs as opposed to adding weight to the arms (provided that you already have enough to completely lock up the clutch) at a given rpm. Does increasing the spring pressure at the hat(lowering spring height) not require more weight on the arms to keep the clutch locking up at the same rpm? I'm so confused! LOL

generally, lighter wieghts will make it engage more smoothly with a larger rpm spread between the "bumping" point, stall point, and lockup point. and heaver weights will close the spread. then you use the spring pressure to adjust when it all starts kicking in.

ideally it will stall at peak torque, and still be locked up when the rpms drop from the 1-2 shift.

do yourself a favor and only change ONE thing at a time. and take notes!

What motor is this GS,KZ,ZX???
You have the air gap right....
Have you measured your spring height yet on the slider hat...Should be around .800....Since you`re leaving at 5500 on the 2step,that .800 will probable be lower that that....5500 is pretty high but you have some pretty good 60` times too.....And yes, if you mess with the stall springs you will have to adjust the arm weights too....Say you tightened the stall springs and never touched the arm weights,It would leave at a higher rpm but the arms would kick in too soon and bog it down off the line or vice versa and blow the clutch out.....The trick is to lock it up as soon as possible without blowing the tire off.....The more weight you add to arms determines how quick the slider will lock up...It`s a fine balancing act to setup just right....

The engine is a zx and installed height of the springs is .725 medium springs. I was just wondering at what rpm everyone elses clutch was locked in by with a comparable set up. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
