I went from 1.63 ~ 1.70 shorties stock-arm to 1.55~1.59 @ 60" (+3) and 1.47 @ 63.5" (+6) using Shinko. If you are only interested in ET get a fixed 6" Muzzys, I actually have a fully polished one for sale $500. If you race in a series like 60" you will need either a fixed 3" over or adjustable. I am also selling my Coby Adams 3~6 adjustable arm (polished) for $500 + stock-arm exchange..

adjustables SEEM like the way to go, but I really don't see folks doing much adjusting.
I have a 6", love it, but am thinking of going to an 8" for my wheelie meister.
Maybe Bergie has a rec??
Maybe VH has some thoughts on Frank? NO!!!!! Just kidding!!!

Same here...1.47 1.48s with 6-over...
If "like to turn a lot"??? DON'T go more than 3-over unless it's adjustable...

Leave it short unless you're a serious bracket racer. Anyone can go quicker with a longer arm. It's just a lower number, isn't it? It takes much more skill to ride a bike at stock length than a stretched one. Ask yourself are you trying to go fast, quick, or consistent? Wheelbase won't help your mph.

Bergie....Check your mail...I might be interested in your Adams arm. And also a question for you all...If youre running a 2 stage Nos bike or a turbo bike..How long would you make your arm?

Depends on rider ability; and horsepower. Obviously it's easier to go quicker on a longer wheelbase. Reason I am selling is that I am racing a crapload of 60" events this year so I don't plan on ever changing my wheelbase this year, but if you want to really go fast easily you'll need a 6-over or adjustable arm...
My email is bergie@dragbike.com because the dontbescaredracing.com website and email is currently down at the moment, should be back up soon.

I think Ken's right, it's all relative, but I'll take the extra tenth. I think the bike looks better at 6-over, stock wheelbase looks stubby to me now. Any more than 6 tho and it starts to look freakish, unless you get an extended tailsection, and then you have a race bike. If you get an adjustable, you at least have the ability to bring it back to short wheelbase if you ever want to, and you can sell your stocker to recoup costs.

Getting a 0-8" fully adjustable made right now. Should be ready this weekend. It's gonna be underbraced with a air tank built in. Can't bloody wait!

Be VERY careful with lowering the front that much in the trees!
The forks are tapered!!! and you put a lot of stress on the lower tree when you clamp it smaller than it was intended!!!!!!
I personaly like a LOT of "squat" in the rear end...as much as the undertail will allow...
We have John's bike set at the MIDDLE hole on his links but when he launches "right"...the tire JUST touches the undertail...
John weighs about 215...
