the wind ain't gonna do us any favors, but the forcast for mornings is doable 8-15 from front right. Typical Texas.
Big news announced at thu driver's meeting.
This is the last meet at this facility, May event will be in Beeville TX, 20 min down the road.

Sucks about the wind, maybe it will be better early in the morning.
Is the Beeville track any longer? Nice that it's so close.
Again, good luck today.

Update from Texas:
Oldkawboy ran 187 on the limiter. He is regearing right now.
Entropy had minor problems on his first pass so he was unable to make a clean pass.

Hope those winds are calm in the AM. I'll probably be riding in with JC.
Too bad West Texas fell through for them, I heard it was a long runway. I hope Beeville's airport can support LSR needs.
If Beeville makes for May, I'll run.................even if it's 9/10's, LOL.
Good Luck you all stay safe and ride strong today!

Well the head & side winds didn't take the morning off again & the humidity was 100%, really needed some power to run good numbers.
Big congrats to Johnny Cheese for running 214 & getting his dues, he was SO stoked & I'm glad I got to see it!
I ran two 191+ passes and that's all it would do but it was exciting to say the least.
Karl tapped out at 211 today.
Still got 1125 miles to home but it's like Dunkin' Doughnuts.......it's worth the trip!
Many thanks to Karl for everything.....what a stand-up guy.
Dan
Oh yeah Dean.....
I saw a carbon body Viper run a 239+, don't know if anyone topped that.

I heard about that Viper, pretty amazing.
I think Jen Robertson got fast bike of the meet @ 227, WTG 9secJen.

thanks a bunch to Dan & Lydia coming down from Knoxville, Ryan and Bill making it from Chicago, Cal Bill from LA, Tom-ozonkiller from Arizona, Rob from Colorado. Some long driving, yup.
big congrats to Dr Cheese for 213.2!!!!!!
I've been coming to the Mile since Oct 2003 watching JC & turbo coppertopbattle wind and mechanical gremlins.
GREAT to see him finally get his T shirt
My heap ran 215.3 on Fri, then 212.0, 213.3, 212.7, and finally 211.9 on Sun am.
Looking at the logs, the 211.9 was a rider perfect pass, 6500rpm+/- outa the hole, minor spinning, every gear spot on, AF=12.5-ish, crossed the line at 10,500+/-.
I was expected to see a 218 ticket.
211.9???? WTF??
figured bearings or valve seats giving it up and parked it. oh well, not a good test of Jim's head
Just now i looked at Accuweather history and saw for 9am:
- 6mph straight headwind
- baro = 29.73
- humidity = 100%
- temp 72F
also(thinking it over), on Sun ozonekiller was running 196-197 on his tweaked NA ZX14, about 5mph+/- off his normal speeds.
In our friendly rivalry, my Busa consistently runs about 15mph faster...
hmmm... maybe just bad air????
I'll drop the pan & do a leakdown.
If all is well, i'll see Tom at mojave on April 10 & race him for beers on a 15mph handicap.

Jen did 221 on the old copper top as well.
Ryan Arnold (Texas Mile Race director) ran 207 to join the 200mph club.
As Karl said JohnnyCheese ran 213 and change to join the 2 club along with helping out a ton of people as well.
For a little Texas Mile history, Johnny was the first person down the Texas Mile in Oct 2003 and he was the last person to run down the track, kind of a fitting end.
I had tons of fun as usually just hanging out and goofing around. Kind of sad not to be going back to Goliad....................I only missed one event from 2003-2011, It was the summer 04 event. I hope to make all the Beeville events,LOL.

Sorry I missed you and the wifey before I left, Dan. I had to head out for my kidos baseball stuff. Very glad you all could make it to Texas. Hope to see you all soon. I think I just watched you do the sprocket and nodded in agreement on proper assembly, LOL. Wish I could have helped you all out more, but you had things well under control.

I just walked in the door. Freakin' head wind all of the way home made the trip 2-1/2 hours longer.
Karl, I'll take that bet!!!
and I'll gladly pay.
I'm so confused about this weekend. I, too, hope it was just the lousy air and wind, otherwise sumthin's up with the motor.
I'm gonna take it to the track this weekend and see if the mile an hour is still there.
What a great weekend with all of you. Thanks and congratulations to all of you

it was great hanging with you this weekend, glad you made the trip.
Unless i REALLY get off my ass this week, i'll not make it to Mojave.
Good clean oil, but bad leakdown... all 4 cyl, intakes. shit.

yup, i could throw my Carpenter head on, but i already have a test of that set up at Mojave.
Prob better to spend that $2K on RBR, it still needs a buncha stuff.
Tonight i'll pull down the motor and send the head to Jim, he wants to do the forensics.
