Racheal went 193 on 17/44, after two full passes on my piped/pc 12R. First pass was gearing limited 17/45 (189). Stock gearing is really going to be just right, it gives you some room for favorable conditions.
I agree with most others here, do the minimum to the bike...just ride it!
Plus, it will be very satisfying when you run faster speeds than modified bikes.

I totally agree with you Shane, and Karl I dont know who your birdie is but I have talked to nobody about doing anything but to borrow a few items like a chain guard, mirror block offs, and sprockets. I apprecatte every suggestion from all of you but it seems to me that most agree on doing nothing but what I have to for passing tech. Make minor sprocket changes, which I now have an understanding for thanks to Doug, Karl and Tim Chin. Then just ride the hell out of it and pray the wind is at my ass instead of the side of the head. Doug will always have the final word with me because without him and Karl I would not be doing any of this. Thank you both very much and thank you to all of you who have been so supportive and helpful to me. You have no idea how gratefull I am or how much this mile racing thing has done for my life. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.. Now I just have one final question...........If there was a good tail wind.......would having a fat ass help me go faster? Kinda like a sail?

gotta be careful with gearing on a stock piped 12 vs aftermarket/PC3r.
The stock pipe has a big hp drop before going into the limiter, where the piped/PC3 will carry hp right to 11600.
i'd gear it for 190mph at 10600 or something like that.
(i forget where the stock bike's hp max is???)
Brenda,
good!
my lil birdie was mistaken

That would be kind of cool to get a baseline HP number on the bike, then see what it would run at the mile. Maybe do a couple mods with race gas, see where HP goes, then run again at another mile. We need a good BrendaSue ZX-12 thread/story (lots of pics).

A 12R with stock gearing and tire will hit 190 mph at around 11200 rpm or so, I believe.

looks like it should be around 10,367.089rpms taking 158mph at the limiter and 11,700 rpms is the limiter which should be 74.xxx rpm per mph. my peek poaer was at 140mph with stock everything.
