12.9 @ 103

On the Ninja 250. Shifter never worked right so never got a clean pass but got my 60s down to somewhat respectable instead of Stationwagon-esque.

Beat the 1800cc Valkerie on our 2nd run...1st run we both had problems.

Buddy on a Duc 996 left earlier with a 12.9 ... wish I coulda run him heads up but oh well.

Motor is bone stock with upgraded clutch springs. What kind of gains did you see with the removal of the balancer?

Was that on the 86-87s only or did the 88-07s retain those too?

Flat slides...would be nice but probably out of my broke ass price range.

Ship,
No way your 250 is going to even think about a 996, especially an SPS.
Their actually quite quick.

I went 12.2 on 1000 Superhawk, at 250 lbs suited, with a 2.3 60 foot.

Not only did it think about it. It ran a comparable time and I can furnish proof upon request if you're trying to pull my card.

Remember the bikes don't ride themselves. The 996 is significantly heavier, the 996 rider is significantly heavier and I was running better 60 ft times.

Put the same rider on both and 99.9% of the time the Ducati should and would crush it to the finish line.

But again, the bikes don't ride themselves. It was chilly out and the track wasn't perfect according to the 996 or 1800cc guy but I couldn't tell you one way or the other considering the lack of HP and torque I put down...I had no traction issues obviously.

And as for knowing what a Ducati 996 can do, you're preaching to the wrong guy.

Go to google and type "Ducati 996 top speed".....thats me on the F2 in the very first result of your query.

I don't know the actual top speed on the Duc and it really doesn't matter.
I have an SPS in my garage and it's quite strong. No way to do any 1st or 2nd gear roll ons without it standing straight up. Forget about et's for a second, what was the terminal speed on duc? I realize weight and your experience has everything to do with it in this case, but at some point the HP has got to take over.

Unless that duc is missing a cylinder it should run well into the 10's @ around 130

Or if the rider wasn't comfortable launching given sketchy traction it doesn't surprise me that he ran the same ET. With more seat time the tables qould have QUICKLY turned against me. And I wouldn't have been able to claw back because I'm trying to ride the shit out of this litle 250....not like I have a bag of tricks ....I'm just trying to see what works best. But I'm reporting what happneed, not what COULD have happened.

I could have had full bottle pressure and no missed gears too, but I reported what actually happened, thats all.

I went 12.6 on his Ninja 500

I went 11.5 on the same F2 that lost to the 996 on the video just to put things in persective.

But when you show up with a 250 at a 1/4 mile drag strip you'll take ANY win you get, thats a fact.
