Shane, you are a perfect person to bring the peripherals up to the level of the motor,
Take yr time, do it right as you do with all yr projects.

I've got a bunch more parts to send, and i am culling stuff you prob won't need.
Hopefully will send some stuff tonight.

I am very please to sell it to Shane, and i am sure he will do me proud.
It's sad not seeing it in my garage for the 1st time in 10 years...

Pete,
I boxed up 3? 4? brand new HG's and a buncha base gaskets this morning
extra set pistons, rods, newly nikasiled cyl block, 3 extra heads (1 perfect), perfect cases w/ studs. Ole Shane has parts coming out of his ears, more on the way.

Congrats Shane. The 12 cylinder head is still best out there (for big motors). I think that bike should be run NAKED. Show Wrongway the "right way". How about Ali in the saddle? After all he has a few (thousand) laps on a 12. I can see it now the Team 661 transporter pulling into the Maxton pits. LSL

If you give him all of that, you could have just thrown in the trailer for good luck. Makes room for your new one.

Well, I guess we are getting to know each other already:

I had to replace the coolant today, due to our climate. We wouldn't want anything freezing in that billet block.

That didn't take long.
I figured it would have been 4 days before you started taking it apart.

It just doesn't seem right without a garage barbie being involved in those pics. Definitely should be on your Christmas list.

Well, having just come off of Roy's 14 on spray, I would imagine it would be about even with Shane's 1427 in the HP department...but if Shane reduces the compression for longevity....I dunno....tough call. I'd be cool with riding it if Shane wanted me to, but he knows that already.

If the clutch didn't fade out on Roy's bike I'm pretty sure we were looking at about 210 honest mph. Last I checked the 1427 has run about that speed with fairings in the standing mile so a Naked vs Naked run is a tough win for the 1427. Shane would be sacrificing over 100cc + nitrous. I know Shane pretty well....he don't spray and even if he did I highly doubt it would be on this particular bike. Never say never but I don't think he would.

Do I think the potential is there? Absolutely, we've already seen the horsepower figures when the 1427 runs strong. It will be up to Shane to help translate that type of HP to MPH. But he's got all winter so who knows what will happen. And of course there is a nearby testing grounds we can go play at. A stock motor n/a pump gas 08 Busa might make for a 1/2 way decent sparring partner in the initial test and tune phase.

And yes, I do agree with 2Kredrocket....red is faster ;-)

Thanks, Larry. I'm not sure what the plan is for this bike yet, but it will not be a museum piece, that's for sure.

Shane, isn't it great to own something that has seen so much greatness. I know that the reason I love my bike sooooooooo much is because of its history, where it has been and the person who built it. I am the luckiest girl in the world.

It's nice to own a machine with a great, documented history...and it will be fun to add another chapter or two to the book.
